Evelyn Sullivan’s eyes turned ice-cold in an instant.
Several burly men had already surrounded her.
“Pretty thing, come with us,” the leader sneered, reaching out to grab her.
Evelyn seized his wrist with lightning speed and flipped him over her shoulder in one smooth motion.
“Ah!” The man crashed heavily onto the floor.
The remaining three men paled and lunged at her simultaneously.
Amid the flurry of punches and kicks, Evelyn’s movements grew sluggish.
She barely managed to take down the last attacker before her vision began to darken.
Staggering into the elevator, she pressed the button for the first floor with trembling fingers.
When the doors opened again, she realized this wasn’t the lobby.
Footsteps echoed faintly behind her.
Gritting her teeth, she stumbled forward.
The hallway seemed endless.
Just as she was about to collapse, a pair of strong arms caught her.
Inside the VIP lounge on the eighth floor, Ethan Sullivan had already emptied three bottles of XO.
“Ethan, are you trying to drink yourself to death?” Lucas Laurier finally spoke up.
Ethan shot him a cold glare. “Shut up.”
Ryan Paisley held Lucas back. “Can’t you see he’s in a bad mood?”
The door suddenly swung open.
Alexander King walked in with Lily White clinging to his arm. “Everyone, meet my girlfriend.”
The air froze.
Lucas stared at Lily, remembering he’d just seen Alexander with Sophia Reynolds days ago.
“Hello, everyone,” Lily greeted softly.
Alexander squeezed her hand. “Should we invite Isabella over?”
Lily glanced furtively at Ethan. “Would that be… intrusive?”
“Unnecessary.” Ethan abruptly stood. “I’m leaving.”
Lily’s eyes reddened. “Does Mr. Sullivan dislike me?”
Lucas scoffed. “If he liked you, someone else would be crying.”
