Chapter 23%
After everything with Cameron finally came to an end, Julia slowly returned to her usual rhythm….
She had let go of the past entirely, but her feelings toward Drew were growing more complicated by the day.
In the past, suitors had chased her endlessly, each trying harder than the last,
But Drew was different. He never crossed the line. He simply helped, stayed close, cared for her health, like a quiet shadow, steady and calm.
Julia had never felt this unsure before. She knew she needed to ask him.
During dance practice that day, she found herself distracted. Her mind drifted, and during a complicated spin, she lost her balance.
Just as she tipped forward, Drew stepped in and caught her.
“What were you thinking about? So lost in thought.”
Julia stiffened slightly as she straightened up.
After a long pause, she finally found the courage to speak
“Drew, do you, like me?”
He looked at her, steady and unflinching.
Then, he smiled. “Miss Gosling, you’re only realizing that now?”
“I like you. I just didn’t want to scare you so I chose to stay close, quietly.”
His tone was firm, leaving no room for doubt.
After hearing his response, Julia finally let out a quiet breath of relief. So she hadn’t been overthinking after all.
She did have feelings for Drew, too. But she wasn’t ready to step into another relationship just yet.
“Mr. Timberlake, you know I’ve had a failed marriage and a child.”
She paused for a moment, then added softly, “Because of my health, I can’t have children anymore. I don’t dare to go through all that again.”
Drew sighed.
“Julia, aren’t you happy now, living this way?”
“Just live in the moment, okay?”
His gaze held hers firmly. “I’ll stay by your side.”
Julia was moved. She gave a small nod.
Though his words were spoken lightly, they didn’t make her feel pressured at all. Instead, his sincerity reached straight to her heart
And as always, Drew acted immediately. The very next day, he scheduled a vasectomy.
When he handed her the surgery slip, he said it with calm ease, “Julia, I’ve had a vasectomy.”
Julia stood frozen, completely stunned.”
“We… can give this a try?“!
After hearing those serious words, Julia’s mind went blank. She couldn’t think; her heart was simply swept away.
That night, the two ended up tangled in bed.
Right after the second round, Drew was already ready for more.
Juka lay there panting, breathless. “No… no more. I still have dance practice tomorrow.”
Drew kissed along her neck, his voice low and teasing. Take a day off. Don’t go tomorrow.”
“No”
But under his coaxing touch, she melted completely.!!
A few hours later, they finally fell asleep in each other’s arms. X
Juka had never slept so soundly.
Her long frozen heart slowly began to beat again.
She felt content, truly content. She no longer asked for more.
After all, she had experienced a failed marriage. She now knew: love was fleeting, and the present was what truly mattered. “Drew, thank you for appearing in my life.”
Drew held her tighter and shook his head. “Julia, you should thank yourself.”
“If you hadn’t found the courage to start over, I would never have stepped into your world.”
Julia smiled and leaned in to kiss his lips.
