Cameron flew to Paris overnight. He was so excited, he couldn’t sleep a wink.
But when he finally stood at the entrance of the ballet theater, his nerves took over. He hesitated. What if Julia refused to forgive him?”
The image of her falling down the stairs, her leg snapping on impact, haunted him. Her tear–streaked face kept flashing through his mind.
“Julia gave me a second chance once, she’ll give me another. She loves me.“!
He repeated the words silently, then finally stepped onto the stairs of the theater.
It was Julia’s second solo performance. She wore a pale pink ballet costume, floating across the stage like a feather.!!
Cameron sat in the audience, holding his breath, as if time itself had frozen.
Seeing her in person was far more breathtaking than watching through a screen.
Julia was too beautiful, too mesmerizing.&
When she finished her dance and bowed gracefully, the entire hall erupted in thunderous applause.
A reporter called out from below the stage. “Miss Gosling, what made you return to the stage? We heard you were married and had a child. Will you return to family life afterward?”
Julia smiled faintly. “I’m divorced.”
She paused, then added calmly, “I just decided to be myself again.”
The crowd fell silent for a beat, then erupted into applause once more.
But that single sentence struck deep into Cameron’s heart.
⚫ His fists clenched tightly as he followed her backstage. The dressing room was quiet!
Just as Julia reached for the doorknob, a voice sounded behind her, low and familiar.&
“Julia, I finally found you.”
Her fingers froze on the handle. That voice, Cameron.8
She stood still, her body trembling slightly. How did he find her?
Seeing no reaction, Cameron stepped forward and, after a moment’s hesitation, gently tapped her shoulder.}
“Julia, could you turn around and look at me?“”
She spun around, slapped his hand away, and frowned sharply. “Sir, you’ve got the wrong person. I don’t know you.”
Cameron froze, staring at her face for a few seconds. “Are you still angry with me? I can explain, Back then, I misunderstood you_”
Julia cut him off, her voice cold. “That’s enough.”
His gaze darkened, and after a pause, he spoke softly. “I’m sorry, I truly apologize.”
“Reese misses you so much. Come home with us, okay?”
Julia let out a quiet, bitter laugh. “You must be joking, Cameron. We’re already divorced,”
She met his eyes directly and said, word by word, “Do you really think an apology can erase all the pain you caused me?” “Cameron, do you honestly believe I care about your apology?”
With that, she turned around and stepped into her studio.
Cameron panicked and quickly followed. “Julia, I know you’re still mad. But when you calm down, let’s go home, okay?” Julia sat down and rubbed her aching ankles.
Cameron froze, the memory suddenly crashing over him of how he had once broken her leg for another woman.
He lowered his head, bitter regret tightening his chest. “I’m sorry, Julia.”
“From now on, I treat you right. I swear, I’ll never hurt you again. I know I was wrong.“8
Julia clenched her fists, unable to bear the sight of him any longer. She pointed toward the door. “This is my private dressing room. Please leave.”I
