While staying at the hospital with his daughter, Cameron had hired every private investigator in the city to search for Julia. Half a month passed. Reese was about to be discharged, yet there was still no sign of Julia.!
Cameron handled the discharge formalities and arranged for several caregivers at home.
Unable to wait any longer, he returned to the same hospital where he had once pushed Julia down the stairs. Using his connections, he asked the hospital to check when she had been discharged.
“Mr. Cruise, we’ve never had a patient by the name of Julia Gosling here.“”
The hospital staff looked confused and checked several times.&
Cameron’s fists clenched. “Impossible. She was receiving treatment here just months ago.”

The staff smiled politely. “Mr. Cruise, even in the past few years, there’s been no patient registered under the name Julia.” Cameron stood frozen, unable to believe what he was hearing.
Julia had clearly undergone surgery here; how could she simply vanish?
He forced out the words. Then check the name Anne Lawrence for me.”
The hospital staff nodded, tapped immediately on the keyboard, then looked up at Cameron. “Yes, Anne was treated here a
few months ago.”
Cameron’s brows furrowed. Anne and Julia had both been in the hospital at the same time, yet only Anne’s record remained. Unless someone had deliberately erased every trace of Julia.K
But who could’ve done it so cleanly?
Sitting in his car, Cameron sat in silence, thoughts tangled. After a long pause, he called the private investigator again. “Still no word about my wife?“E
A weary, apologetic voice came through. “Mr. Cruise, we’ve got nothing. It’s strange. It’s like she vanished without a trace.” Cameron pressed his lips together. “I understand.”
He ended the call, gripping the steering wheel until his knuckles turned white.
Then, without hesitation, he headed straight for the police station.
He handed over his ID and calmly said, “Hello. My wife is missing. I need to file a report.”8
The officer took the ID, verified the information, and then visibly froze.
The head of the powerful Cruise Corporation appeared at the station to look for his wife, if word got out, it would’ve been explosive.
Keeping a professional tone, the officer asked, “Alright, Mr. Cruise. Please provide your wife’s name and ID number.” Cameron recited Julia’s full name and ID without hesitation, each digit etched into memory.
The officer typed quickly, brows slowly knitting as he searched the database.&
“Mr. Cruise, 17 need to see your mariage certificate.”
Cameron was caught off guard. He hadn’t brought it. Without a word, he called the butler and asked him to deliver it.
Soon after, the butler arrived and handed over the document.}
The officer resumed his search. A few minutes passed. Then he returned the paper and shook his head.
“Mr. Cruise, according to our system, this certificate is no longer valid. It shows you and Miss Gosling divorced several months ago.”
“Since you’re no longer legally married, I’m afraid we can’t proceed with a missing person’s report. I’m sorry.”
Cameron stood frozen, mind blank. Only then did he remember, months ago, to stop Reese from crying, he had agreed to divorce Julia.X
