Chapter 98
I laughed bitterly and asked him,”
“What about me? You want me to take the blame for you–what exactly do you expect me to do?“}
“I can’t take the college entrance exam this time. If you drag me down again, my life is over. Have you ever thought about that?“}
He sounded calm, almost too relaxed.
“Your family is rich. Can’t you just throw some money around to quiet the public?“}
“If you really can’t take the exam and can’t get into a top university, it doesn’t matter. You could always go to a junior college. I’ll work hard and support you, won’t I?”
I sneered, unable to hide my contempt.}
“Then why don’t you let Sophie take the blame? You could support her instead.“}
His voice softened, clearly mistaking my anger for jealousy.
“How could she compare to you? Her dream is Yale University — how could I let that dream be shattered?“}
“Besides,” he added quietly, “the one I like the most is you.“}
“In fact, I was going to confess to you on the way home from school last night, but…“}
I couldn’t hold back a cold, bitter laugh.”
“You say you like me, yet you locked me in that gymnasium and kept my parents from finding me?”
“Did you tear up my admission ticket? Did you make that disgusting video with Sophie just to humiliate me?“>
There was a long pause on the other end. His voice faltered, weak and small.
“You… how do you know? Who told you? That’s all fake. Sophie and I didn’t do any of that…”
“She sent it to me herself,” I said quietly.
My voice dropped to a faint whisper:
“Want me to forward it so you can savor it again?“}
He was completely speechless. I hung up the phone.
Seconds later, my phone was bombarded with messages.
“Emma, I’m sorry. Sophie and I drank too much… I accidentally broke your admission ticket…”
“I’ve made a deal with Sophie. As long as we help her get through this, she won’t bother me anymore.”
“You’ve always cared about my relationship with her. Now that she’s out of the picture, I’ll belong to you alone, okay?“}
“Start a live broadcast in an hour to clear everything up. Then we’ll be together, okay?“}
I read the messages and smiled coldly.
“The live broadcast will start.”}
His replies flooded in with hearts and “I love you” emojis.”
Ethan, yes, I’ll do the live broadcast.}
But take the blame? You’re dreaming.}
-An hour later, I went live.}
Before the college entrance exam, our entire class had gone to a bar, drank until they were poisoned, and delayed the exam. The scandal had already attracted national attention.}
Millions flooded into the live chat room.
I looked steadily into the camera.}
“Hello, everyone, I’m involved in this incident, and I’m here to tell you the truth.”
Almost immediately, the comment stream exploded.}
Some viciously accused me, frantically trying to condemn me like a hired army.
But rational voices rose too:”
“If it was really her, why would she tear up her admission ticket? She couldn’t take the exam–would she ruin her own future like that?”
Then Ethan joined the live feed. I accepted.”

He looked at me with guilt and complicated affection,
I said flatly, “Let me play a recording for everyone.“}}
His face turned pale instantly.”
“Emma, think carefully. Once some words are said, there’s no going back.“}
The same old threats. But this time, I wasn’t afraid.”
The recording began.
First, Ethan threatened me not to call the police.}
Then, I hacked into Sophie’s social account, finding her chats with a man:”
I can’t really take the exam. All my grades are fake. If I fail, my entire academic record will be destroyed.”

The evidence was undeniable.
As the video played, the chat room fell silent for a moment, then exploded with shock and outrage.
“How could someone do this?”
“This is manipulation and betrayal on a whole new level.”
“Thank you for showing the truth.”
I felt a strange calm wash over me. This was only the beginning – but at least now, no one could lie and pin it all on me.”
