Thinking this, I quietly got up, gathered the medicines, and began to carefully bandage my wounds.
Suddenly, the phone rang. It was my brother Tyrone, who had somehow stolen the nurse’s phone and was calling me in secret.%
“Sister, when are you coming to get me?”
“Sister, it hurts so much. They’re all bullying me.”
“Sister, please come. I’ll listen to you, I promise!”
After hanging up, I rushed to the hospital without a second thought.
The moment Tyrone saw me, he threw himself into my arms and sobbed, “Sister, you’re finally here.”
The 20–year–old boy looked fragile, as thin as paper.
I rolled up his sleeves and my heart clenched at the bruises and purpling marks covering his arms.”
“What happened?” I asked, swallowing my anger, my eyes flicking sharply to the two bodyguards who had been tailing me since I left the house N
“They said you were abandoned by your brother–in–law.” Tyrone’s voice trembled.
“They said your brother–in–law ordered them to ‘take good care‘ of me…“W
I couldn’t hold it in any longer.
Brandon could do whatever he wanted to me, but he would never touch my brother.”
He was my only family–my everything.
Tears streamed down my face as I wiped them away and pulled my brother to his feet. “Let’s get out of here.“}
But as we reached the door, the two bodyguards blocked our path.
“No one leaves without Mr. Parrish’s order.”
At that moment, Marilyn appeared, clicking her high heels arrogantly.
Behind her stood a group of medical staff in pristine white coats.
The bodyguards shut the door and stood firm, guarding the exit.
I positioned myself protectively in front of Tyrone, “What do you want to do?” I demanded.
Marilyn sneered. “He’s specially developed a new drug for your brother’s condition. Once injected, it makes people much smarter. I’m here to administer it to him.“0
My blood ran cold. “No! Stay away from my brother!” I shouted, horror rising in my voice.”
I didn’t trust Marilyn for a second–there had to be a hidden agenda.
Holding the syringe, Marilyn smiled cruelly. “Afraid your brother will be a guinea pig? Then come try it yourself.“}]
She stepped toward me, her gaze colder than venom.
“Don’t-“N
I backed away, heart pounding. Whatever was in that syringe, it couldn’t be good.
“Why are you doing this to me?” I cried out.
Marilyn’s smile twisted into something sinister. “Because… you know something you shouldn’t.“}
Before I could react, she plunged the needle hard into my arm.
“Don’t hurt my sister!“}
Tyrone lunged from behind me, grabbing Marilyn’s wrist with all his strength.
Footsteps echoed outside the door, and Marilyn instantly relaxed, letting the syringe drop with a clatter, playing the frightened lamb.
Brandon strode in. Marilyn clung to him like a lifeline.”
“Brandon, I brought a doctor to inject Tyrone with a new drug developed by the Parrish Group. Anna accused me of wanting to harm Tyrone!”
Brandon’s dark eyes flicked to the syringe on the floor, his thick brows knitting in displeasure.
“Pick it up and inject him again,” he ordered coldly to the doctor.
“No! Marilyn wants to harm my brother–there’s something wrong with this medicine!” I stepped forward, shielding Tyrone.” Brandon sneered. “He’s a fool. Why would Marilyn harm him? If you dislike her, don’t drag her through the mud.” “Besides, this is a new drug developed by the Parrish Group. Do you think I wouldn’t know if it were dangerous?“}}
