Chapter 3 A True Socialite
Albert froze for just a split second, then continued to take Isabella away without answering her.
The farce of their wedding had come to an end.
The next morning, Florence woke up and found Albert still hadn’t returned.
Her lips twisted, a bitter taste in her mouth.
She knew he was still playing nurse to Isabella, no doubt.
Just then, the maid, Violet Wills walked
in with a white dress.
“Mrs. Morris, as per tradition, you’re

since Mr. Morris wasn’t here yet, should we call him?”
“Don’t bother. He’s busy taking care of Isabella and isn’t available. I’ll go alone,” she replied, forcing a smile.
Why humiliate myself? Even if I call, he won’t come anyway.
Today isn’t just day two of our marriage – it’s the 80th birthday of Albert’s grandmother, Ruby Morris.
Big shots from the business world would be in attendance.
In the past life, Albert paraded Isabella around at the birthday party like his
wife, making me, the new Mrs. Morris, a laughingstock of the entire city.

Heh, how ironic. She thought.
She eyed the white dress Violet was holding and frowned.

Her closet was all pastels now. She used to love bold colors, but Albert always liked soft ones.
Isabella was a master at playing the innocent in her light colors, making men want to protect her.
Like an idiot, Florence had copied her bad tastes. Threw out all her bright clothes, thinking it would make Albert kind of love
her.
Yet, reality had proven otherwise; no
matter how much she sacrificed, his heart

Looking back at everything she’d done for him made her sick.
“Violet, trash all those pastel clothes. I’m done with that shit.” she declared.
“But Mrs. Morris, didn’t you say Mr. Morris loves pastels?” Violet looked puzzled.
“No. He just loves who wears them.” She replied, her tone sharp as she picked up a red spaghetti–strap gown.
She’d always been bold and confident, never one to shy away from eye–catching outfits. It was in her DNA.
As the heiress of the Brooks family, she

outranked even the Morris family. She’d

grown up frequenting high–end venues, a world Isabella could only dream of breaking into.
I beat her totally in family background, looks, and brains.

Why the hell was I copying her? She’s just a shameless scumbag.
I must be out of my mind back then.
I will be who I really am this lifetime. She thought.
That night, she rocked the red dress. It fit
like sin.
With her flawless makeup and elegantly styled hair, she exuded grace and
sophistication.

“Look, Ms. Brooks is here! This is going to be fun,” someone remarked, excitement bubbling in his voice.
“Why’s that?” Another chimed in, intrigued.
“You missed it? Albert brought another chick to Madam Morris‘ birthday party! A designer at the Morris Group named Isabella Brown. They’re joined at the hip. He even ditched his bride at the wedding for her yesterday!”
“No way! This Ms. Brooks doesn’t seem like the type to take that lying down. Her man runs off with his side piece on wedding night? And they are all here today, there’s bound to be a showdown!”

Charles Foster caught every word from his
corner.
He was dressed impeccably in a tailored black suit, a striking black–and–gold ring on his finger radiating wealth and sophistication.
He watched Florence’s stunning entrance with keen interest.
Who is this Ms. Brooks?” he asked, curiosity piqued.
Tyler Clark leaned in. “Six months in Costa City and you don’t know anything about it? She’s from the Brooks family, known as the jewel kingdom: Her uncle is the Minister of Defense. In general, she’s the real deal, man. A true socialite.”

“Yet on her wedding night, Albert ditched her to chase after that Isabella. Left her
alone in bed.”
“What a waste! Picking that twig over a bombshell? He’s so blind.”
As Tyler spoke, Charles‘ gaze lingered on Florence’s alluring figure, a sly smile playing on his lips.
Noticing Charles‘ unusual interest, Tyler couldn’t help but tease, “Why so curious
about Albert’s wife?”
“Shut you mouth,” Charles snapped, shooting him an icy look before striding toward the banquet hall.
“Hey, wait a sec!” Tyler called after him.

Inside, Isabella hung on Albert’s arm, a bit nervous. “Albert, should I be at Madam Morris‘ birthday party today? I’m nobody here…”
Albert’s face was unchanged. “Take it easy. There are many big names from the jewelry industry here. You’re Morris Group’s designer now, so you’ll need to interact with them. I brought you along to help you make those connections.”
“What if Florence finds out? She’s going to be upset. After all, I’d ruined your wedding night yesterday…” She glanced up, all innocent eyes.
Albert’s jaw tightened at Florence’s name. “I’ll explain everything to her later.”
Isabella nodded, sensing the tension, and

fell silent.
Just then, his secretary rushed up,
sweating. “Mr. Morris, Mrs. Morris has
arrived.”
Albert’s face darkened, ready to rip into him. But Isabella jumped in.
“Mr. Morris, since Florence is here, maybe I should go. I don’t want her to
isunderstand the situation if she sees me,” her gaze cast down, playing the perfect victim.
Her act just made Albert hate Florence more. “I brought you here for work. We can just ignore her.”
Then he turned to his secretary,
commanding, “Take Mrs. Morris to the

“Mr. Morris, it might be too late for that…” he said awkwardly.
