Dominic clearly realized that he and I could never go back. After a moment’s hesitation, he asked, “Can I meet your fiancé?”
I was surprised by his request, momentarily stunned before replying, “If he’s willing, there’s no problem.”
After getting Marcus’s agreement, he willingly agreed to meet Dominic. When Marcus arrived at the hospital, he quietly closed
the door, giving them privacy.
Dominic, thinking about the man who would become my husband, felt not hatred, but envy. He envied him for being able to
spend his life with me.
As soon as Marcus entered, he noticed the thick bandages on Dominic’s abdomen. His tone was sincere. “Thank you for saving
Jane.”
Seeing Marcus, Dominic finally understood why I was with him. Marcus wasn’t stingy with his emotions.
