Chapter 7
<
My words enraged her. She slapped me, then
grabbed my neck.
“Sarah, nobody will care if I kill you. I faked
my collapse at the wedding. I wanted to show
you my position in Luke’s heart. You can’t
beat me!”
“Even if you become Mrs. Harrison, I’ll make Luke hurt you again!”
“The funeral will happen. I won’t keep your mother’s ashes. We’ll do a sea burial–just toss them in the ocean!”
I was furious, but she patted my face and left, smiling. Seeing her face, I ended the
livestream.
Lily. I hope you can still smile!
<
She’s known for being strong. She created a
persona of a brave girl fighting leukemia.
Her diary, detailing her illness, had millions of
followers.
My livestream exposed her, shocking
everyone!
“Two–faced! She played the part perfectly!”
“She said she had leukemia and needed a
bone marrow transplant. I asked where the
marrow came from. She was evasive.”
“Turns out she had a walking bone marrow
bank! So creepy!”
“The rich can do whatever they want?
Investigate the Harrisons!”
<
“She was abandoned at the wedding, and her
mother died. So sad!”
Public opinion is a double–edged sword. I
knew Luke wouldn’t forgive me, but this was
my only chance.
I relaxed, leaning back. Luke arrived shortly
after, staggering when he saw me.
“Sarah, I…”
وو
“Luke, see? This is your precious Lily. Five
years of this, and you knew nothing?”
“You pretended to know nothing, then
compensated me. Nobody cares! Hypocrite,
stay away from me!”
“I’ve called the police ”
く
“I also copied the cemetery video, proving
you stole Mom’s ashes. If you don’t return
them, I’ll sue you until you go to jail!”
“Even a CEO can’t escape the law.”
He clenched his fists, then chuckled bitterly.
“I’m sorry. Punish me however you want, just
don’t leave!”
He held my hand. His illusion shattered. Lily
had deceived him for five years, all because
of my witnessing her rejection.
She’d set a trap, and lost completely.
His plea made me sneer. I slapped him.
“This is for my mom. You wronged her, you
hurt her daughter!”
Another slap!
His face was swollen on both sides.
“This is for myself. Five years. Five years of
being your lapdog. I always put you first,
hoping to win your heart. I only ended up
hurting myself!”
“Luke, we’re done. Return the ashes, and I won’t hold a grudge.”
