Of Course I Raise My Own Daughter! Ch 8

Of Course I Raise My Own Daughter! Ch 8
Chapter 8
They thought they had it all figured out, so sure that victory was just within reach.

But what they didn’t know was, from the very beginning, they never stood a chance.

I was wrapping up some work at the office when George barged in, kicked the general manager out, and plopped himself into the leather chair, crossing his legs like he owned the place. He loudly declared that his sister was the new chairman, and he was the new general manager.

The employees, clearly intimidated, backed off. But I wasn’t about to let this slide.

“Throw him out,” I commanded coldly.

A few security guards stepped forward, ready to escort him out.

“You dare touch me?” George jumped up, pointing at the guards like they were criminals. “My sister is the chairman! I’m her real brother! You better keep your hands off me!”

He turned to me, venom in his voice, “You’ve been kicked out of the Johnson family! You don’t get to boss around the company anymore!”

As he kept ranting, he tried to shove past the guards to get to me.

What a joke.

Just then, Chloe walked in, her expression sharp as ice. She took in the scene with a glance, her eyes narrowing.

“What’s going on?” she asked, her voice cold and controlled.

“Sis, you’re just in time!” George immediately switched tactics, turning on the fake sympathy. “This woman wants to throw me out!”

“This is a business, not a playground,” Chloe shot back, her gaze never wavering from him. “And I’m not your sister.”

Brianna, who had followed in behind him, piped up, trying to sound sweet but with an edge. “Chloe, how can you talk to your brother like that? You’re family. He’ll help you run the company. Otherwise, you’ll be alone and everyone will just walk all over you.”

Chloe didn’t even flinch. She gave a brief, humorless laugh and turned to the guards. “Throw them both out.”

Brianna’s face went pale. She stepped forward, her voice rising in desperation. “You can’t do that! I’m the wife of Gregory Johnson, heir to the Johnson Group, and your real mother! This company is mine too!”

I couldn’t help but laugh. It was rich, hearing her talk about ownership. “Throw them out. Don’t let them get their filth on the company.”

The security guards, now fully understanding who was in charge, wasted no time in hauling both Brianna and George out of the office.

Brianna was still yelling as they dragged her away, “Kaia, you just wait! When those test results come back tomorrow, I’ll make you beg for crumbs!”

I watched them struggle against the guards, my expression unfazed. “Don’t worry, Brianna. I’m looking forward to those results too.”
