Of Course I Raise My Own Daughter! Ch 3

Of Course I Raise My Own Daughter! Ch 3
Chapter 3
I wasn’t deceiving myself. Chloe was my daughter, no matter what Gregory or Brianna tried to claim.

Did they really think they could fool me?

When we decided to try IVF, it was because Gregory had weak sperm. But before the embryos even formed, I caught him red-handed messing with my egg storage. I overheard him talking to Brianna on the phone, gushing about how he’d successfully swapped in her eggs.

I didn’t make a scene. Instead, I quietly turned around, slipped the doctor a hundred grand, and had them switch back to my spare eggs.

And just for good measure, I had the doctor replace Gregory’s sperm with my ex-boyfriend’s.

When the embryo was formed, Gregory and I were both there, watching the so-called “miracle” unfold. He was practically glowing with happiness, probably thinking the baby was his and Brianna’s.

I couldn’t help but laugh on the inside. Watching him play the fool, thinking Chloe was his biological child, was almost too satisfying.

For over twenty years, he pampered Chloe, believing she was his daughter with Brianna. But he was the one who’d been duped all along.

Gregory’s voice cut through my thoughts. “Still in denial? Chloe may have come from your body, but the egg wasn’t yours! Her real mother is Brianna.”

I didn’t flinch. Instead, I shot him a cold look. “Are you dreaming?”

“Don’t believe it? We can do a DNA test,” he said, all too eager.

I raised an eyebrow. “Fine by me. But I also want a divorce. You’ve treated me like your personal servant for twenty-five years. I’ve put up with enough.”

At the mention of divorce, a quick flash of satisfaction crossed his face. Looks like he’d been hoping for this moment for a while.

But honestly? The only thing that made me laugh inside was how he thought he’d done enough for me.

Twenty-five years of marriage, and I might as well have been married to a ghost.

When I was raising our child alone, he was off living it up with Brianna.

When I was working my ass off in the business world to secure the Johnson name, he was partying away at clubs.

But here’s the truth—my marriage to him wasn’t about love. It was about power. About controlling Johnson Group.

And now, I had it all. Johnson Group was completely under my control.

Gregory? He was nothing to me now.

“Divorce? Fine,” I said, shrugging like it didn’t matter.

“But we don’t need a DNA test. I know Chloe’s mine.”

Chloe stood by my side, her eyes filled with unshakable trust. “Mom, I believe you.”

Gregory and Brianna looked absolutely rattled.

“Chloe, don’t you trust your father?” Gregory demanded.

Chloe didn’t even look at him, staying right next to me.

That’s when the door burst open, and a young man, looking like a college student, walked in.

He walked straight up to Chloe, grinning from ear to ear, calling out, “Sister!”

The entire room went silent.

As if one extra mother wasn’t enough, now we had a brother? Out of nowhere.
