Of Course I Raise My Own Daughter! Ch 10
Chapter 10
The examiner cleared his throat, and the room fell into a heavy silence. He began to read the results.

“According to the DNA comparison results, Ms. Brianna White and Ms. Chloe Johnson…”

He let the words hang in the air, creating a dramatic pause. Brianna and Gregory leaned forward, eyes wide, as if they couldn’t wait to hear the truth—or their twisted version of it.

The Johnson family, all gathered in anticipation, held their breath. They were waiting for the moment they thought would humiliate me.

“…are not related as mother and daughter.”

The air in the room seemed to freeze.

Gregory’s eyes popped open in disbelief. “No… this can’t be right!” His voice shook with shock.

Brianna, too, went pale, her face twisting into a mask of horror. “How could this happen? There’s no way there’s no mother-daughter connection!”

She looked as though the very ground beneath her had just cracked wide open. Her expensive makeup couldn’t hide the panic rising in her chest.

“Let me see that!” George practically ripped the report from the examiner’s hands. His eyes scanned the results, and when they processed the truth, his knees buckled. He collapsed into a chair, mumbling, “How is this possible…”

I turned to the examiner, a small, victorious smile tugging at my lips.

“Now, let’s check the paternity results between Chloe and me.”

“According to the DNA comparison results, Kaia and Chloe are biological mother and daughter.”

The room erupted in shocked gasps.

Gregory looked like he’d just been electrocuted. His face turned pale, and his hands trembled. “No, this isn’t right…” he mumbled, struggling to come to terms with the reality.

Seeing Gregory, my mother-in-law, and everyone else in the room utterly stunned, I finally decided to break the silence.

“I saw you tampering with the eggs, Gregory,” I said, my tone sharp and full of satisfaction. “So, I switched mine back.”

I watched as his face twisted in disbelief, horror creeping into his eyes. But I wasn’t finished yet.

“And, by the way, I also swapped your sperm with my ex-boyfriend’s,” I added, watching their faces morph from shock to terror.

The room went silent. My mother-in-law, usually so composed, now looked like she might faint. Her eyes widened in shock, disbelief written all over her face.

I leaned in slightly, my eyes cold, my voice steady as I delivered the final blow.

“Chloe is not your child, Gregory. Congratulations, you’ve been the fool for over twenty years.”

Gregory’s face turned a deep shade of crimson. He snatched the paternity report from the examiner, his hands shaking.

When he saw the results, his eyes went bloodshot. Rage took over. He lunged at me, fury dripping from every word as he roared, “You bitch!”

Before he could make it to me, the bodyguard intercepted him and slammed him to the ground.

I stood over him, unflinching, my eyes cold as ice.

Brianna, realizing her plan was falling apart, clung to Gregory, her voice shrill with desperation.

“Gregory, if Chloe isn’t yours, then she’s not a part of the Johnson family! George must be the heir!” she screeched, her nails digging into his arm like a lifeline.

Gregory’s eyes sharpened, a dark realization dawning on him. He staggered to his feet, the rage in his eyes now calculating.

He turned toward my mother-in-law, still reeling from the news. “Mom, everyone, you’ve heard the results. Chloe isn’t my daughter!” he shouted, his voice trembling with desperation.

He pointed at me, his finger trembling with rage, and spat, “She’s the bastard child of Kaia and her ex! We can’t let the Johnson family’s assets fall into the hands of outsiders!”

Brianna and George were right there, shouting over each other.

“That’s right! Kick that little bitch out!” Brianna screamed.

“The only true Johnson heir is me, George!” he yelled, as if the position was already his.

I couldn’t help but silently laugh at their pathetic attempts. They still hadn’t figured out who the real winner was. The joke was just getting started.
