Chapter 8
Three days later, the divorce procedure was completed smoothly.
Because of his infidelity during the marriage, combined with all his other misdeeds, Adam was ordered to
leave with nothing.
Not only that, but all the money he had spent on his mistress had to be reimbursed, leaving him in massive
debt.
My financial situation had always been far better than Adam’s, and the court should have awarded me
custody of our son.
But Timmy insisted on staying with his father, and the judge had no choice but to let them live together. I would pay child support periodically, at the lowest possible rate.
As we left the courthouse, Adam looked utterly exhausted.
I used to love his face-the clean, gentle, and elegant look.
But now, due to sleepless nights and stress, his face had broken out with pimples, and his pores were
noticeably enlarged.
It suddenly hit me-he was a 30-year-old man now.
The youthful face I had once loved had disappeared along with his true feelings, leaving nothing but an
empty shell.
He still forced a provocative smile as he looked at me.
‘So you got the money. What does that change?”
“Timmy and Nella will always love me. We’re a real family!”
Seeing his confident, self-assured expression, I couldn’t help but sneer,
Adam didn’t realize that love without material support is nothing but sand slipping through your fingers.
When I was the core of his life, he naturally loved Nella and all her fake affection.
Now, I wanted to see just how far they could go without me.
At that moment, Nella showed up to pick him up, her face beaming with youthful energy.

“Adam! I’m here!”
Adam’s eyes lit up as he immediately embraced her.
Even Timmy seemed overjoyed, saying:
“Mom, I missed you so much!”
I noticed Timmy’s glance at me, clearly trying to provoke me.
Too bad for him, the mother who once loved him had already died.
grabbed my car keys and drove off in my brand new luxury car, leaving them behind.
Three years later, my company had grown even better.
Sut I had learned to enjoy life, so I no longer worked myself to the bone.
began taking care of my skin, traveling, gardening, and picking up various random hobbies.
even bought a large villa in the suburbs.
Life was peaceful and fulfilling until one day, Timmy showed up at my door by himself.
He was already eight years old, much taller and thinner, and his voice no longer carried that muffled, nasal
one.
Three years had passed, and he had certainly changed a lot.
Mom, Mom…”
Hearing his anxious voice, my smile faded.
I’m not your mom.”
He suddenly grabbed my hand, his voice shaky as if he were about to cry.
“Mom, I didn’t know better when I was younger. I couldn’t tell who the good and bad people were. Please
don’t blame me.”
Looking at him in this state, I was curious to know what had happened to him.
It turned out that ever since Nella and Adam got married, her attitude towards Timmy had drastically changed.
Before, she would spoil him, take him out to play, buy him all sorts of snacks and toys.

But after the wedding, she couldn’t even be bothered to look after Timmy. Every day, she was either out shopping or meeting friends for beauty treatments.
Her dislike for Timmy reached its peak when she became pregnant.
“Mom? What mom? I’m not your mom.”
“This one in my belly is my real child.”
After the divorce, Adam still had some savings, but with Nella’s extravagant spending, he quickly ran out of
money.
They often fought, and their home was in constant turmoil.
When Nella couldn’t get money from him, she would threaten to divorce, forcing Adam to ask his parents
for money.
Originally, his parents had at least a million in savings, but he quickly drained it all.
Desperate, Adam had to start working to earn money, but he didn’t have much skill. A monthly salary of
1,000 wasn’t nearly enough to support Nella.
He thought that once the child was born, Nella would be tied to him for life.
But, it turned out that the child wasn’t his!
Vella had already hooked up with another man, pregnant with his child, intending for Adam, the fool, to
ake care of her.
t wasn’t until Adam discovered the blood type mismatch that everything was exposed.
But he couldn’t do anything; he had to swallow the bitter truth.
Adam had spent all his money supporting Nella, and now, after the divorce, with no savings and being an older, divorced man with a son, he was completely unable to remarry.
At this point, Timmy’s face was covered with tears.
‘Mom, I’m your real son! You can’t just abandon me!”
He glanced at the luxurious house behind him, swallowing hard.
“Dad says you still have feelings for him, so you haven’t found another man. I’ll be your only child from now
on.”
“As long as you’re nice to me, I promise I’ll take care of you when you’re old.”

As he spoke, his expression became more greedy.
Still just a child, he hadn’t learned to hide his emotions.
With just one glance, I could see through his real intentions.
“Mom, where are you?”
A little boy’s clear voice came from inside the house.
Timmy paused, his voice choking as he asked in disbelief:
‘Mom? Do you have another child?”
The little boy followed the sound and found me, rushing straight into my arms.
His voice was both sweet and adorable:
‘Mom, hug me! Hehe.”
held him back, my eyes soft with affection.
And that was when I remembered to respond to Timmy’s words:
Yes, that’s right.”
‘Not only that, but I’m going to leave here soon.”
Seeing the awkward look on Timmy’s face, I smiled lightly.
Three years ago, you stopped being my son, so I don’t need you to take care of me in my old age.”
stood up and patted my legs.
Go back now, I won’t see you again. You’re just like your father, disgusting.”
The word “disgusting” struck Timmy hard, and he clenched his teeth, kicking the door in frustration.
But no one cared.
He could only leave on his own.
The little boy in my arms whispered in my ear:
“Auntie Nina, why do I have to call you mom?”

This child was my best friend’s son, and I had adopted him as my godson.
When I realized Timmy was thinking of coming to find me, I had already prepared for this.
Three years ago, he called another woman “mom” right in front of me.
Three years later, I could have another child, but I would never recognize him.
Thinking of this, I smiled.
“Would you like to eat the cake made by me?”
The child’s eyes lit up, nodding eagerly.
I took him inside, and soon, the sweet scent of cake filled the room.
The past was left behind, and all I had to do now was embrace the future with joy.
