Chapter 4
Timmy, despite his reluctance, simply pouted and gave me a contemptuous look after meeting Adam’s warning gaze.
I watched it all quietly.
Adam’s affair, his love for another woman, would at most make my heart ache.
But my own flesh and blood, Timmy, the child I raised with so much effort, had become just as heartless as
his father.
[treated Timmy like my most precious treasure, but to him, I was nothing more than an ugly woman.
felt sadness, disappointment, but also a sense of quiet longing for what we once had.
Sweetheart, what would you like to eat tonight?”
His voice snapped me back to reality. I casually replied, “Anything.”
Adam quickly went into the kitchen, and soon the living room was left with just me and Timmy.
He was playing with blocks, deliberately keeping his distance from me.
t was as if he was intentionally avoiding me. Every time I moved, he ran to the other side of the room.
waved at him:
Timmy, Mommy needs to talk to you.”
Reluctantly, he came over.
pulled a beautiful music box from the drawer beside me. It was a gift I had bought for his fifth birthday.
The music box was exquisitely made, and Timmy quickly took it, clearly fascinated by it.
lowered my voice and asked:
‘Do you like Daddy more, or Mommy?”
After a pause, I added:
“If you stay with Mommy, we’ll have a big house, lots of toys, and plenty of snacks.”

Without even thinking, Timmy threw the music box to the ground, his face filled with anger:
“I knew you were up to no good, trying to bribe me with toys! No chance!”
The music box shattered into pieces when it hit the floor.
His angry face slowly started to resemble Adam’s more and more.
I stood up and looked at my son, and without meaning to, I thought back to a year ago.
immy had always been smart and understanding, so lovable.
vaguely remembered the Mother’s Day when he gave me his very first gift.
A beautiful hand-drawn picture, with a note that read:
For my favorite mommy.”
After a tiring day at work, he would kiss my cheek and say in his baby voice:
Mommy, can you not work so hard anymore? I’m really worried about you.”
was so moved. Seeing my son’s innocent face, I made up my mind to give him the best life I could.
ince Timmy loved drawing, I would support him in becoming a great artist and pave the way for his future.
n just one year, the child who once loved me had disappeared without a trace.
uddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my palm and snapped back to the present.
Vithout realizing it, I had dug my nails into my palm, leaving a red mark.
immy had already run off, and the room was in complete disarray.
leeing this, Adam quickly said gently:
Don’t move, let me clean it up.”
Not far away, Timmy glanced over and muttered:
Ugh, the old woman is useless, always making Dad do everything!”
My heart turned cold.
I found an excuse to go back to my room, and then I consulted a professional legal team.

Chapter 4
I needed to find out how to make Adam return every penny he had illegally misused from our joint assets
during the marriage.
I provided the video footage, spent hours organizing a stack of bills, the amount totaling eight figures.
After getting a positive answer, I finally breathed a sigh of relief.
After all these years with Adam, dividing our joint property would be difficult.
At this point, I was almost relieved.
Relieved that he had been reckless at home, bringing his mistress into the house and doing all those things, iving me the perfect evidence.
Now, I just had to wait for the right moment.
During these few days of gathering evidence, I didn’t sit idly by.
entrusted the company affairs to someone I trusted and stayed at home for seven days straight.
Divorce was one thing, but making Adam pay a price beforehand was another.
