Chapter 2

Though I had been busy with work over the years, I never missed Timmy’s birthday, family gatherings, or Children’s Day.

I worked tirelessly, often staying up until three or four in the morning, all so he could live a more

comfortable life in the future.

I did earn money, but my health took a toll.

never told anyone about this endured the painful, lonely times of illness all by myself.

Because I felt guilty for not being able to spend more time with Adam and Timmy.

But I never imagined that the gentle, well-mannered Adam would have raised our son like this!

The thought made it hard to breathe. I immediately called him.

When I spoke, my voice was thick with emotion:

Your son doesn’t recognize me anymore! What should I do?”

Hearing my voice, Adam panicked. He hung up and rushed over.

When I saw his familiar face, I finally felt a little relief.

Adam grabbed Timmy and pulled him in front of me, his voice stern:

Apologize to your mom!”

Timmy’s eyes turned red, like he had been deeply wronged.

de yanked his arm away from Adam’s grip and angrily said:

I only see her a few times a year, why should she be my mom?”

With that, he picked up a toy from the side and threw it at my head.

A sharp pain shot through me, and everything went black for a moment. My hand instinctively pressed against the wound.

It was bleeding.

Timmy, seeing the blood, didn’t panic at all. He defiantly said:

“Hurry up and leave my house! I don’t need you as my mom!”

Adam, flustered, hurried to help me back, his face filled with guilt.

“Timmy seems a bit extreme. Let’s not let him go home tonight.”

“I’ll go back on my own. I need some time alone.”

Seeing my stubbornness, Adam reluctantly agreed.

I drove home, and the first thing I did was go into Timmy’s room.

The room was spotless, except for a drawing on the desk.

It was a picture Timmy had drawn of our family of three, looking warm and happy.

But after just a glance, my legs gave way, as if stepping on cotton, and I nearly collapsed.

In the drawing, the mom had beautiful, long, flowing hair.

I’ve always worn my hair short and neat.

Clearly, the mom in Timmy’s drawing wasn’t me.

I rushed to my wardrobe, frantically picking up each bag to inspect.

To my surprise, the bags seemed perfectly fine.

In fact, each one was neatly arranged, with not a speck of dust on them, as if Adam had carefully tended to

them.

I sat on the sofa, eyes wide open, staring until morning.

The next day, I called a friend who works in product verification.

I randomly grabbed a few bags from the closet and sent them for testing.

What I never expected was that the results would reveal a huge problem!

All five bags I sent for testing turned out to be fake replicas!

My friend said with concern:

“These bags look fine at first glance, but if you look closely, there are too many mistakes.”

“Especially the leather texture; it’s far from meeting the standard of real luxury goods.”

Chapter 2

This was like a bolt from the blue.

Each bag had been bought from the boutique-there was no way they could be fakes.

The only person in my house who could have tampered with these bags was one person.

But why would Adam do something like this?

As I thought about the strange neighbor and my increasingly distant son, a chill ran down my spine. The blood in my veins felt frozen, and my hands and feet went cold.

A horrible suspicion began to form in my mind.

I drove slowly back home, my thoughts racing.

Just as I was about to reach the neighborhood, I wasn’t paying attention and was suddenly hit by a black car!

The driver of the luxury black car angrily got out and slammed her hand against my window.

‘Can’t you fucking see when you’re driving?!”

I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out, feeling frustrated.

It was her fault-she didn’t signal when switching lanes, causing the collision.

Yet, she acted as though it was all my fault!

just as I got out of the car, I froze.
