While my family was throwing a damn party over splitting my winning lottery ticket, I was flat broke, sleeping on the streets.
That night, some drunk lowlifes followed me home. I died a horrible death.

Everyone was high on the moment.
I quietly tucked the ticket into my pocket.
“Mom,” I said softly, “I’d like to get my own place.”
“I’m starting my internship soon, can’t keep living in the dorms.”
