Chapter 5
Lucian Grant wasn’t just a businessman he knew how to fight.
And he didn’t come alone.
Behind him surged over a dozen bodyguards, each one cold–eyed and battle–ready.
The moment they entered, the chaos vanished.
Orion’s wedding guests began yelling, some trying to resist–only to be tackled to the ground within seconds.
Lucian rushed over and litted me into his arms.
His voice trembled with guilt. “This is my fault. I should’ve been by your side.”
I buried my face against his chest, my throat tight. “How did you find me?”
“I saw someone livestreaming it online,” he said. “I used every resource I had to track the villa down.”
He held me tighter, “Delphine, don’t worry. As long as I’m here, no one will ever lay a hand on you again.”
Orion staggered over, face twisted with rage.
“Who the hell are you?” he snapped. “Delphine is my fiancée! Don’t touch her!”
Lucian gave him a slow, scornful once–over. “You? You think you’re worthy of her?”
“I’ve tolerated you long enough. I know everything you’ve done over the years.”
He rolled up his sleeves. “Time to return the favor,
Then he punched Orion straight in the face
One blow and Orion collapsed, flat on his back, dazed.
He groaned, struggling to sit up. Halt his face was already swelling.
“Delphine…“he rasped. “Who… who is he? Did you really get married?”
His voice trembled with fear
I didn’t answer.
I walked to the corner of the room, removed a hidden security camera, and handed it to Lucian.
“Call the police. The footage has everything–how they attacked me, and how they destroyed my property.”
Lucian nodded without a word,
After he reported it, he checked his watch and looked at the bodyguards. “We’ve got thirty minutes before the police arrive. Give them a little preview of what’s coming‘
The guards got to work.
Orion’s so–called “friends” were dragged across the floor, kicked, punched, bruised and bloodied.
Orion himself was thrown against the wall. His nose gushed blood. His face was a swollen mess.
Seraphina’s makeup had smeared all over her ruined wedding dress. Her son had been shrieking nonstop until a bodyguard locked him in the bathroom.
Exactly thirty minutes later, the police arrived.
Thanded over the surveillance footage. “Forget about my injuries. Just the antiques they smashed today are worth $5,000,000.” Chapter 5
Ask Al
Everyone in the room went pale.
“Are you crazy? That’s extortion!” someone cried.
I pulled out auction receipts and documents. “You’re welcome to have them appraised. I’ll wait.”
The police reviewed the footage and matched each guest to the property they damaged.
When they finished, every single person was listed in the report.
Split evenly, each of them now owed near one million.
They panicked.
Someone turned on Orion. “This is your fault! We only came to help with your wedding!”
“Yeah, we only beat her up because of your fiancée! You should pay this!”
Orion said nothing.
Then someone had the nerve to say, “You’re the CEO of a public company, right? Five million’s nothing to you.”
But before Orion could respond, his mother spoke up–hysterical. “Why should we pay? We don’t have that kind of money! He’s not a real CEO! That company belongs to her family!”
The moment the words left her mouth, she froze.
Her face went pale as she realized what she’d just admitted
She turned to me, her voice suddenly pitiful “Delphine, sweetheart… Auntie was wrong today.”
“I’ll make sure Orion apologizes properly. We’ll cancel the wedding with Seraphina, and he’ll go register with you, today.”
“Please, for my sake–can’t we just put this behind us?”
I looked her straight in the eye and smiled coldly. “Auntie, is your face worth five million?”
