Chapter34
She rushed to the police station and was stunned when she saw the man who was also injured. “What happened?”
“Lottie, don’t be angry.“‘Esther walked over with red eyes. “It’s all because of me. I accidentally drank too much. If Nigel hadn’t rushed over…”
Before she could finish speaking, Lottie understood. This was a melodramatic plot where one would get angry for a beauty.
However, the male lead was her husband in name. That was all.
Nigel looked at Lottie apologetically. “Sorry to trouble you.””
“It’s no trouble.”
Lottie nimbly followed the police to sign and go through the process.Compensation should be compensated, and fines should be fined. They also apologized and bowed to the other party’s family.
The police officer was a little surprised to see her so calm as the first wife.
Lottie understood and answered his doubts generously. “We’re

divorced. We’re just short of getting a divorce certificate.”
The police officer was impressed. “It’s not easy for your ex–wife
to do what you did.”
Lottie did not reply. He thought to himself, ‘It’s okay. I was paid.
He was just taking someone’s money to help them out.
It was Nancy who sent her over. He was still waiting for her
outside.
After completing the procedures, she did not say anything to
Nigel and walked out of the police station.
Unlike the sunny day in the morning, the weather was very
gloomy. However, it was already dark at around three o’clock.
It was drizzling. The cold wind mixed with the rain and drilled
into his clothes. Lottie felt that his limbs and bones were
cold.Nigel chased after her and stopped her. “Don’t let Grandma
and the others know about what happened today.”
“Yeah.”
Lottie nodded and agreed readily. “I know.”
Chapter34
With Mathis family’s power and connections, it was more than
enough to resolve this small matter.
Why did Nigel not use it? He was afraid that if Mathis family
found out, he would not let the culprit off.
He wanted to protect what Esther, Lottie knew.Nigel’s gaze
landed on her without blinking. He asked with a smile, “Are you
angry?”
“No.”
“Really?”
“I really didn’t.”
Nigel sized her up and said, “Let’s go. I’ll send you home.”
-You guys.He had said that Esther would move out.
It seemed that he had broken his promise.
Lottie began to rejoice that ever since he found out about him
and Esther, he had never thought of trusting him.
Trust had always been a luxury to her.
She had given Nigel once, but there would not be a second time.
Chapter34
Lottie’s gaze swept past Esther, who was following behind him.
His voice was very calm. “No need. Nancy is waiting for me.”
“Lottie,”
Nigel could tell that something was wrong with her. He grabbed
her wrist and said, “Wait a minute.”
Lottie wanted to break free, but he did not move. He only turned around and said to Esther, “Go to the car first.”
“Alright, talk to Lottie nicely if you have something to say!”
Esther looked generous, but he clenched his fists tightly. Before getting into the car, he glared at Lottie unhappily.Nigel rubbed the inside of Lottie’s wrist with his thumb. He deliberated and said, “She promised not to call the police when you injured Esther in the hospital last time and didn’t mind. I also promised her that we’ll take our time moving.”
He was clearly just giving her a taste of her own medicine, but now, he looked like he was generous and didn’t want to argue with her.
And he was forced to agree to continue living at home because of her.
It was as if they were all paying for her impulsiveness and

unreasonableness.
“What if I had to call the police?”
“What?““Can’t I call the police when I’ve been pushed down
such a high staircase and I’m bleeding from the fall?”
Lottie looked at him calmly. “What would you do if I called the
police that day? You should only be thinking about how to help
Esther clean up the mess.”
Lottie had always found the two words he heard on the hospital
balcony quite funny.
Her husband’s first reaction was to think about the aftermath of
her injuries.
Nigel was stunned. Lottie saw his expression and was not
surprised. He spoke frankly.
“As long as you’re willing, even if she calls the police, you have
thousands of ways to deal with the aftermath for me. You have
plenty of ways to make her call the police, but it’s useless. The
real reason why you agreed to let her continue living is not for
me, but for yourself.“He was willing. He was willing to go in and
out with his sweetheart.
Why did he have to make her take the blame?
