Andy stared at the computer screen intently, his fingertips almost crushing the mouse.
Looking at the clues I had searched for, I was getting more and more confused.
Now, through Crystal’s words, he had completely understood that Maddie had never cheated.
The “affair” mentioned in that message may have been the excuse she used to leave him for good!
Andy felt dizzy and rubbed his temples.
At that moment, the assistant suddenly pushed open the office door and rushed in anxiously, handing over the latest information that had been found.
“Mr. Loreine, we found it! Ms. Patter was last seen on the surveillance camera dragging a suitcase towards the airport!”
“What?!”
Andy suddenly got up, with such force that he knocked over the chair.

The assistant looked at him nervously and said, “I’m sorry, Mr. Loreine…”
Where did Maddie go?
In an instant, Andy’s mind flashed back to a long time ago when Maddie had asked him carefully.
“Mr. Loreine, can I go to France to study design? Just for one year…”
Andy did not confront her questions, instead he pushed her down on the bed and in the most violent way, made sure she could never say the word “leave” again.

Andy’s fist slammed down on the desk, as if his teeth were about to shatter.
If he had not stopped her from pursuing her education back then, maybe there wouldn’t have been so many troubles between them.
“Help me book a flight to France, the earlier the better!”
After finishing speaking, Andy grabbed his coat and strode out of the office.
The plane landed at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, and Andy looked at the unfamiliar street scene, filled with longing for Maddie in his heart.

In late autumn in Paris, the campus was covered with fallen plane tree leaves.
This school was a well–known art school, and those who could get in were definitely not ordinary people.
Andy didn’t realize until now that Maddie was never the canary he kept in a cage. With her abilities, she was capable of flying to much greater heights.
Andy regretted deeply, he repeatedly dialed Maddie’s number, but that number had long been out of service.
The only thing he could do was stand at the entrance of Maddie’s school, anxiously scanning every person coming in and out.
Suddenly, Andy saw the familiar figure from a distance.
Maddie came out of the classroom wearing a beige trench coat, accompanied by a handsome and considerate young man who appeared to be around the same age as her.
Perhaps Maddie didn’t notice that the boy’s eyes were constantly on her, which made Andy very unhappy.
