Maddie stood at the entrance of Alexis’s apartment, watching as he pushed the last suitcase inside, a thin sheen of sweat on his forehead.
Since the last time she agreed to Alexis’s proposal, he has been planning the layout of the house, clearing out many things to make space for Maddie’s convenience.
And early this morning, he skipped class and drove over to pick her up to help her move.
“Thank you so much, Alexis.”

He did not turn off the TV, but instead, he lowered his head and looked affectionately at the person in his arms in the dim light of the
