In her first week in Paris, Maddie was starting to adjust to her new surroundings.
But she didn’t let these things bother her, instead throwing herself wholeheartedly into the field of design, spending all day in the studio.
Her grades were excellent at first, but she gave up the scholarship for studying abroad that should have belonged to her because of her poor family background.
In addition to always staying by Andy’s side, she lingered in his gentle world, naturally throwing academic matters to the back of her mind.
Now, Maddie has left him and can pursue her own dreams. In addition, with the mentor extending an olive branch to her, she came here
without hesitation.
The first thing she did when she arrived in Paris was to be taken on a tour of the unfamiliar campus by her mentor.
This school is a well–known art university at home and abroad, with a strong artistic atmosphere that quickly immersed Maddie in it.
“Maddie, it was so great that you chose to come here to study. Since you, I haven’t seen anyone as talented.”
The mentor took Maddie aside and said solemnly.
Upon hearing the mentor’s words, Maddie couldn’t help but feel touched.

When she was by Andy’s side, he frowned and threatened her.
“If you still want money to treat your mother’s illness, stay by my side and don’t go anywhere.”
Thinking of the man who had once hindered her growth, Maddie shook her head with a smile and remained silent.
From the moment she left Andy, she was destined to become a free bird.
She watched the young people coming and going with their easels or instruments, feeling more and more excited, wanting to join them immediately.
The mentor showed her around the teaching building where they had classes, as well as the studio they would need after class, and then left first.
Based on the advice of her mentor, Maddie rented an apartment near the school, which was only a five–minute walk away, saving her a lot
of time.
Whenever in class, she was always the most active person in the class and interacted with the teacher.
Perhaps because it was a rare learning opportunity, she worked harder than anyone else.
That evening, the studio was once again left with only Maddie.
She was so serious that she didn’t even notice when it got dark.
Maddie turned her sore shoulders and neck, tidied up her sketches and was about to leave when she suddenly heard a piano sound coming from somewhere.

The melody of the piano was very beautiful, it was the song that father loved the most before he passed away. Maddie was unknowingly moved by the sound of the piano, her eyes moistened.
She was momentarily entranced, as if this was a symphony playing just for her in the quiet hallway.
Maddie was determined to find the source of the music. She carried
her bag and followed the sound of the piano until she reached a small chapel.
She pushed open the heavy doors of the auditorium and saw only the tall figure of a man.
He sat in front of the piano in the center of the stage, playing with great passion. The music he played seemed to come to life, slowly flowing into Maddie’s heart.
And so,
the two of them tacitly did not disturb each other.
The man sat with his back to Maddie on the stage, while Maddie was the only audience member at the concert, sitting in the front row below the stage.
As the music came to an end, the man closed the piano lid and bowed to Maddie in the audience, who burst into applause.
“Thank you for listening to my performance.”
The man’s voice was deep and gentle, for some reason, it felt particularly familiar to Maddie.
The next second, the two of them locked eyes, and Maddie’s breath caught in her throat.
The person in front of her was not a stranger, but someone Maddie had

thought she would never see again.
“Was it you… Alexis?”
The man on the stage stiffened, unable to hide the shock on his face.
“Maddie?! How come it’s you!”
Alexis Larsen leaped off the stage and looked at the graceful girl in front of him, feeling a joy he had never experienced before.
He gradually approached Maddie and, feeling a bit excited, gently hugged her.
“Maddie… long time no see…”
His voice trembled, his embrace carrying a comforting warmth that made Maddie momentarily set aside all her worries.
Alexis was her neighbor’s brother when she was young. Due to a family incident in her childhood, she and her mother moved out of their home overnight without saying goodbye to Alexis.
This matter had always been a knot in her heart. As an adult, she often thought of her childhood playmate and felt guilty for leaving without saying goodbye.
Little did she expect that fate would favor her so much, allowing them to meet again here.
“By the way, Maddie, what are you doing here?”
“I came to study abroad, what about you, Alexis?”
Alexis paused for a moment when she heard the news, then smiled.

“I did too. The second year after you left, our whole family moved to Paris. I just… never expected to see you again here.”
“It looks like we will be seeing each other often in the future.”
He reached out his right hand to Maddie, his face showing undisguised happiness.
Maddie was slightly startled, blushing as she shook his hand, just like the awkward and beautiful moment they had when they first met in the new house years ago.
