My mom said “Nick I will never be mad at you for taking care of my daughter and making sure not to cause friction with her team. You are a good leader Nick. We will both send guards to watch the others so we can get rid of people loyal to Panther and not the company. Just remember they think you are just Fire president of Freedom MC they don’t know you are anything else your parents have kept you hidden well.”
“Yes we will keep you all well hidden and as far as the new men I will tell them with the slip up I wanted 2 men per station so I hired more. I will have uniforms for them, just send me their sizes and we will have them here tomorrow,” I said.
“Ok guys we are going to bed it’s late here,” my mom said.
Then they all said “we love you both goodnight.” We all hung up.
“Well that was easier than I thought it would be. I bet they were spying till we hit the button. So are you staying in my room or did you want your own. Fire if you stay in here it will get back to the crazy bunch and we will have a wedding planned. Are you ok with that? I mean at least they would let it be a biker wedding till the crazy is over.” Why am I planning a future with a man I don’t know if I can’t trust? I know my people will dig further than he realizes I will get my answers.
“Ice I will go through any battle and to prove that we are going on a date tomorrow night. I know you can’t leave the compound but I got pulled with something I think you will like and it will be an all of us thing so your friends dont feel left out.”
I just kissed him as my response just as Star ran in. I jumped and pulled my gun from the end table. I didn’t know it was her so it was not my fault. “what the fuck Star that is how you get shot.”
Star raised her hands and said “Sorry but I got a message from the gate well you did but you left your phone on the porch I was out there. the new recruits are here, what new recruits? We didn’t know anything about that.”
“Damn my mom works fast. We just hung up with her. Let me ask her before we let them in.”
Nick used his phone and called “hey we wanted to check there are guys here that say they are recruits, did you already send them.”
“Yes, after Panther was caught as a traitor. He should have given them code words” she said.
Star said “they did it as the turtle rides at midnight.”
“Yep that’s them” mom responded.
“Really mom, where do you come up with those code words?” I ask.
“What I like to have fun with. I have been asleep for a long time and like you I’m stuck in a compound. I only got to see you once because of all the threats.”
“That’s not what I meant. It’s just not something I could think of. I love it and it puts some fun in the mafia. I will take a poll with the guys you sent and ask if it made them smile and let you know because I know it made us smile. text me tomorrow we love you bye.”

“Well let’s get them settled and get to bed, good thing we have nothing to do tomorrow it’s sunday. We should have a welcome BBQ so that way they think this was planned. Eve could make it look like she has been planning this with me for a while. We can all cook too. The kitchen is huge, maybe not you Star and Tann can’t cook.”

We all get up and walk out. “Hey guys, let’s go meet our new recruits.” Eve was on the couch and said “what I hope you just found out and didn’t forget to tell me I love setting up a BBQ for them?”
“Yes my mother just told me she should be sending you sizes for them all in the morning and their birthdays and allergies she knows you want all that and she will probably call you too. She probably thinks you’re asleep.”
“Ok on it all.”
We walked outside and I radioed the gate and said “let them in.”
The man who seemed to be in charge of them said “I am the lead for my team. if we need more we will send word my name is Justin.”
Well hello fellas. Justin, thank you guys for coming. We have room for you in the hotel we built. We wanted it to have a kitchen and dining area. The food is free and the kitchen is always open. It’s just like a home and Eve, the woman standing behind me, will order anything you need. She decided a year ago she will take care of everyone so treat her and her husband James right. I know mom gave you a file on the compound so you know everyone already. you are family we got you ok. I know you all have a story to tell and we can’t wait for you to tell it when you are ready. We are having a welcome BBQ tomorrow for you. We plan fast. Now I have a silly question and no matter what the answer is, no one will get in trouble. How much do you love my moms code words?”
justin answers “we love your mom she remembers our birthdays and is the kindest strongest person we know. If you are anything like her we will have so much fun together.”
“I knew it. I told her we all loved them.” I tell them.
We all started laughing and Kevin said “ok guys I have all of you in rooms with someone that Panther hired, so you will be on their schedule to make it easier they have never had partners it was Panthers doing. But now with the changes we will fix that. Let’s go so you can all see what hours you have to work and prepare.” Then they left.
