I whip my face and smile “how did you know I needed a fight? They don’t like when I leave bruises and you don’t seem to mind.”
“Your mother saw the cameras when you pushed the button. You know it sends you mom a stream to keep you safe she called and said you might need help.” He says. Little does he know it sends it to my uncle Ketch.
Tann says “who is this he had access to here without our help.”
“It was mandatory for me to stay here and not go to New York. When my grandfather retired they wanted me there but I convinced him to let me stay. It was a part of the contract I couldn’t not till they said and I take it since the old fart got to Panther they decided it was time for you to be here and not in the shadows or with them. I’m sorry you know how contracts are. It was that or not tell you anything and this was less lying.”
Star said “ok as long as you fought for us to know as much as you could.”
“Always, we are family. Nick taught me how to fight when I was gone for a month. I didn’t really leave. I was in the forest very deep. I kinda thought I would need it. I didn’t think it would have been Panther betraying us but it was.”
Nick said “what do you mean the only places you don’t have cameras are your rooms?”
“Yeah I have one in my room just on my own network and server for me just in case only Star knew it was there.”
I loaded the feed and handed it to them they need to know he tried to rape me. I just walk into the house and he will give it back. I trust him. He is in this life too.
His dad is with a family that is allied with my moms family. I need a shower. There are so many unanswered questions surrounding him that will come out while he is here.
I get out of the shower and go get hot tea then sit in the rocking chair with a throw blanket. I know they will all pull up chairs but I’m comfortable here.
I haven’t left the compound in over a year but there are too many that want me dead. This is the only place that is safe. Or so I thought.
Then a shot went through the window. Well, they have really bad aim. I dropped down in front of it and it was bullet proof solid then grabbed the walkie I had on me.
“You guys better be on that how the fuck did they get that close to hitting almost me I want them found and gone.”
I found the sniper rifle we hid on the porch. My mom is smart. Then I slid the panel aside and lay on my stomach. I start looking then say in the radio “Someone moves so the shot makes it a hat or something.”
Then there was a shot. I can get them ok. I see the flash but the tree is in my way. “Who is on the south side? He is in the tree in front of the 5th marker on the wali?”
Nick answered “I got him and I like your markers. It makes this easier. I will have

I heard his shot then all clear so we stood “check the area again and I want whoever was supposed to be watching that spot brought to me now and replaced with someone from the MC.”
I was pissed. Nick comes and hugs me and whispers “tonight im not leaving you tonight i don’t care if your friends know that a really care about you and i won’t hide it when you need me,” i just nod he is right im trying to be strong but I am alone at the top of the Mafia family is stressful he gets it he runs his. I still don’t know if I can trust him all the way but I can have someone hold me.
We sit in one rocking chair with my blanket over us rocking back and forth. My family just smiles. Danger even more. He loves me; he has been burned like the rest of us. He thinks this will be my happy ending. I am not so sure,
Tim walks up with the guard that I don’t recognize and says “this was the guy at that spot he didn’t even have a radio.”
“You don’t work for me. I’m guessing Panther brought you with him today. Take him to the cells. Kevin checks if everyone is who they are supposed to be. Shooter, Speed and Wizard, will you help him? There are a lot of people and some of them our fantastic tech Wizard can do with the computer if they are at a post. It’s not late but I have had a rough day so being 5pm it’s late enough for me. Can someone order pizza and bring us a box when it’s picked up, go watch them make it, we can’t take chances not after what happened today. that goes for any fast food.”
Star said “good idea they seem to be desperate since you don’t go anywhere. They would know we know if you did leave.”
Nick picked me up and said “see you all later.” he walked in and went down the hall to the room i kept as mine it was the easiest to fortify to keep them

SOBS out. He takes us to the couch and sets me down. “I’m going to shower before food, ok”
Then gives me an amazing kiss that I respond to and pull him closer. oh I did miss him I just didn’t realize how much. We have text everyday for the last 8 months since he left. He was just mine for so long my calm.
I pulled him even closer. and he picked me up and sat down with me facing him. I pulled away. “I missed you Fire way more than I thought I would.”
“I missed you too Ice way more than i thought i would too,” then I kissed him this time. I felt his hand under my shirt then he unclasped my bra.
I missed this. I missed his touch. I’m scared to love. I noticed Panther’s change about a month after I came back. I did love him but I didn’t realize it till he started to betray me.
