Chapter 19
“Alright we have a plan, guards will be here tomorrow and so will Forest and Wizard. Things are starting to go our way. Kevin makes sure your dads guards leave and Twisted has the MC sweep the forest with drones. I want to make sure no one is left. the rest of you do what you do. let’s go Panther.”
When we are done my cast is removed. Now I build my strength to make sure I don’t fall. It won’t take too long. Panther learned my PT so he can help, plus he wont let me give up and doesn’t stop me unless I am going to hurt myself.
It’s been 2 weeks since I can walk with a cane. Forest found my heart was fine. It was the med they gave me and he fired half the staff at the hospital we have for working for my grandfather.
We are going to pretend I still have a heart problem. Danger has cleaned up the guards at my uncles my Grandfather wants to meet so he is being escorted onto the property and I will be in the chair Panther had remade. There was stuff in mine so they could hear and had metals in it that would make me sicker. He thinks I got what was my moms and he can steal the New York mafia from me before I know it’s mine, well too late it is mine.
My mom will never be strong enough to run. She is already 46 and just waking up, they have watched me grow and wished they could intervene but that would put my mom in danger because they didn’t know about me or Ghost before mom died but when mom knew she could die she called them they are the ones who saved us but my dad showed up thinking they were medics because they were and took me then they told him mom died so that no one could kill her while she was in the coma.
I walk outside and look around and I see them training. Then I see James and Evelyn in the garden so I walk over. Panther falls into step with me; he is my second in command. We decided on it at a meeting we all had with my mom, grandpa and the team. They said we balance each other. I’m too messed up in the head to think about all that and he won’t push he has seen my file and I have his.
It’s a step for those of us who have trouble opening up. “Hey Layla, He will be here in a bit. I have the chair ready for you.”
“I know I can’t stand that slimy bastard. I can’t believe how much our tech guy Wizard has already got on him. you know we will have to check your dad to see if he is friends with Papa.”
“I know I hope that’s not why I got sent away. Fred is already there and used what we had on Tank to prove he did what he blamed Fred for. so the club voted him next president and dad can’t do anything about it.”
We stop by Evelyn and I say “hey guys how are you today?”
Eve answered “good we love it here you have made us so happy, the older ones just call us mom and dad. The younger ones call us grandma and grandpa. I have already started making stuff for all of them for Christmas and their birthdays.”
“All of them you have met about 1300 of my men since you got here”
“Yes, all of them are all so sweet and they bring us things all the time. They even want to build a house for us so that way they can buy us stuff to fill it.”
“Well Eve I’m going to let you in on a little secret only me and my team know. Most not all but most of the men we hire lost their families, some are rescues from families that hurt them. Other than Star and Tann, everyone in my team has been through abuse or betrayal of some kind. You are our family even if the team considers you family. That’s why money keeps appearing in your bank. You get an allowance from the family just like the rest of us. I’m really really
rich.”
