“I only ever wanted to stay by your side. I never once thought of taking Madam’s place–let alone send her those messages. You must have misunderstood me…”
As she spoke, Angela’s eyes reddened. She gazed at Logan with tears shimmering like broken pearls.
If he hadn’t seen those arrogant text messages himself, perhaps he might have believed her words.”
But now, with every line replaying in his mind, her denial only stoked the flames of his fury. His eyes burned with rage as he flung the phone at her feet. The screen lit up, displaying the damning text thread she had sent.
Angela’s breath hitched. With the evidence laid bare, she could no longer deny it. She clutched his hand desperately, sobbing. “I–I know I shouldn’t have done it, but I couldn’t bear for our child to be branded a bastard! Logan, how could you let your own son suffer such humiliation?“%
A cold laugh slipped from his lips. He pried her fingers off his arm one by one, his tone merciless, ‘Hah. Bastard? That’s exactly what he is.”
“I warned you long ago–Mrs. Miranda’s place belongs to Arissa alone. You will never replace her. To me, you’ve been nothing but a distraction, a plaything. How could you possibly compare to Arissa in my heart?”
“If you’d stayed obediently by my side, I would have made sure you and your child lived comfortably for the rest of your lives. But you broke the rules first–so don’t blame me for being ruthless.”
He clapped his hands sharply. Two bodyguards stepped in, seizing Angela by arms and dragging her toward the door.”
Panic struck her instantly. “Logan, I was wrong! I never should have provoked Madam. But she’s gone now–she’ll never return! I’m carrying your child. Can’t we start over and live as a family?”
Hearing the word ‘gone,‘ Logan’s eyes turned deadly. His hand shot out, gripping her chin so tightly bruises bloomed beneath his fingers.
“Arissa will come back! Once I apologize, she will forgive me–I know she will!“&
“But you–you are the reason my wife left me. You will never have the chance to appear before her again.”
Angela thrashed in terror, pleading frantically. “Logan, I’m pregnant with your child–your first child! How can you not want him?”
Letting out another cold laugh, he gestured coldly to the guards.
“A child? He’s nothing but a clump of cells. I won’t let him be born.”
“Take her to the hospital. Get rid of the child–and then throw her out.”
Angela’s eyes widened in horror. She hadn’t thought he would abandon even his own blood. Her pleas grew louder, more desperate, but he didn’t spare her a glance.!!
Once she was dealt with, Logan turned all his energy back to finding Arissa.
He filed police reports, plastered missing person notices across the city, but every search led to nothing. Even the authorities claimed there were no records of her–no trace at all, as if she had vanished into thin air.
That was when he remembered.
On their anniversary, she asked him a question. His careless answer was, “If I ever betray you, then punish me by disappearing forever.“E
Now, those words had become prophecy.
Each night, when he returned to the villa, the silence chilled him to the bone. The home that once overflowed with warmth now suffocated him with emptiness.
And then he remembered–the small box she had given him before she left.
She told him, “Open it two days later.” That day had been the very day she disappeared.
But in the chaos of her vanishing, he had completely forgotten about it–until now.N
A flicker of hope rose in his chest.
Perhaps inside was an address, a clue. Perhaps she hadn’t left forever. Perhaps she was simply waiting for him to repent.
