In the interrogation room, my mother recounted how she had tied me up at the wedding to fulfill Sonia’s dying wish. The story was so outrageous that even the police stopped taking notes.

Yoseph stood between them, his crimson eyes revealing malice, his probing gaze seeming to see right through Sonia.

Rebecca let out a cold laugh and pulled a thick stack of photos from her bag. They were all pictures of Oscar with her in private, even evidence that they had met recently.
