Chapter 5
Levin shoved away the nurse trying to draw my blood and pulled me behind him.
Caelum froze at his action.
He stepped forward and gave Levin a push.
“Who are you calling your wife?
“Clarissa is my girlfriend. Why are you pulling her?
“Let go of her.”
Caelum tried to grab Levin’s hand.
Levin dodged slightly and ignored him.

Instead, he asked me, “Honey, who was trying to take your blood?”
I pointed at Caelum.
Levin’s face hardened. The smile on his lips vanished
He clenched his fists and glared at Caelum.
Then suddenly, he threw a punch at Caelum’s face.
Caelum looked at him in disbelief.
“I’m drawing blood from my girlfriend. What’s it to you?

He didn’t get to finish before Levin punched him again.
Blood gushed from his nose.
The security guards who had been holding me down were about to intervene, but Levin’s men took them down instantly.
The guards outside saw the scene and didn’t dare come closer.
Caelum had taken two punches. His rage was about to explode.
He threw away all pretense and tried to charge at Levin.
But before he got close, Levin’s men held him back.
Levin walked around me and noticed the injury on my arm.
He quickly called a doctor over to dress it.
Then asked softly, “Does anything else hurt?”
Seeing how gentle he was, compared to how cold Caelum had been, I couldn’t hold back my tears anymore. They poured down my face.
Levin held me and patted my shoulder.
“Don’t worry, Honey. No one’s ever going to hurt you again.”
Caelum sat on a chair, panting, glaring at Levin.

“Clarissa is my girlfriend. Don’t get too close. As long as you stay away from her, I’ll let today slide.
Levin chuckled.
“Yeah? Clarissa is my wife. The one who needs to back off is you.‘
He turned slightly, pulled out a marriage license, and kissed it.

Then opened it and waved it in front of Caelum’s face.

Almost like he was afraid it’d get snatched, he quickly tucked it back into his coat.
Caelum’s eyes widened.
He stared in shock, unable to believe it.
Then he suddenly laughed, like something had just clicked.
“Hah. You seriously think I’d fall for a fake marriage license? Nice try.
“I was just with Clarissa this afternoon to get our license. She was so mad when I left, she almost cried. She loves me that much–how could she possibly marry you? When would she even have the time?”
So he knew. He knew I was angry when he left.
He knew how much I used to love him.
But still, he left me over and over at the City Hall like I didn’t matter.
He knew everything and still kept breaking my heart.
There was only one reason: he didn’t love me enough.
A doctor who’d been standing nearby quietly asked, “Um… should we still give the pregnant woman a transfusion?”
Caelum said nothing.
Levin shot the doctor a glare, and he left right away.

“Clarissa, if you want that marriage license so badly, let’s get it tomorrow. Once we’ve got the real one, we’ll blind him with it.”
As he spoke, he glanced at Levin.
And he waited for my reply, like he always did, expecting me to light up the moment he mentioned marriage.
But this time, I said nothing.
Confusion flickered in his eyes.
Levin didn’t look at him. He just looked at me, gently.
“Honey, let’s go. Where to first?”
I remembered that bloodstained swab. I had to go to Caelum’s place.
“To his house. I need to get my stuff.”
Caelum’s face twisted with rage.
“You still dare call my girlfriend ‘Honey“? I-”
He looked like someone had stolen what belonged to him. His eyes brimmed with fury.
He raised a fist and took a step forward.
But remembering he wasn’t Levin’s match, he lowered it again.
Levin didn’t even glance at him. He took my hand and walked away.
