Chapter 20
“Charlie, you said after the auction ended, you’d give me time to talk properly. Right?”
“I did say that, but look at my current state. Am I in any condition to have a conversation with you?”
She glanced down at herself and said flatly: “Another time.”
Seeing she was about to leave, Mason quickly instructed his bodyguards to follow her.
“All of you, follow her and deliver everything I bought at tonight’s auction to my wife’s home.”
“What wife?” Charlotte interrupted. “Mason, I told you we have no relationship anymore. And I don’t want your things!”
“What?” Mason’s words completely enraged Sophia. She blocked the bodyguards‘ path, screaming: “Mason, didn’t you buy all these for me? Why are you giving them to that bitch Charlotte?!”
Her outburst was too emotional, making her careless with her words.
Mason’s eyes instantly turned cold. “What did you call Charlie? A bitch?”
“No, I spoke in anger–my words came out wrong.”
Sophia began crying frantically. “These things aren’t for me? They’re for Charlotte?”
“Yes, only Charlie deserves these things!”
“Why? Why aren’t they for me?” Sophia became emotional. “Mason, Charlotte has hurt me again and again. I thought you’d stand up for me, but why are you still being so good to her?”
“I hurt you?”
Charlotte had intended to let it go, considering Sophia’s youth and inexperience.
But since she refused to repent, Charlotte saw no need to show mercy.
“Tell me exactly how I’ve hurt you.”
“You asked for it.”
Sophia glanced at the onlookers, sniffling: “As Sullivan Group’s advertising director, Charlotte tried to please advertisers by having them force me to do things I didn’t want to do! I screamed for help, but she ignored me! If Mason hadn’t shown up in time, I would have been…”
As she spoke, she cried even harder.
The crowd immediately began condemning Charlotte.
“Oh my God, I never imagined Charlotte West would be such a person!”
“No wonder they say she never fails to close a deal. So she uses such dirty tactics!”
“How is this any different from being a madam? Disgusting!”

Chapter 20
Hearing the comments, Sophia secretly gloated.
“This was Charlotte’s fault, and she’s been punished for it.” Mason frowned, about to say more when Ethan finally appeared.
Ethan laughed coldly: “On what basis does Mr. Sullivan say this was Charlie’s fault?”
“It wasn’t Charlotte’s fault, was it mine? She has no moral character and doesn’t deserve to be Sullivan Group’s advertising director. Mr. Reed, I advise you to stay away from her. Otherwise, one day your female employees might be abused too.” Sophia spoke righteously.
Ethan just smiled without speaking as he walked to Charlotte’s side and said three words without hesitation.
“I trust her.”
Those three simple words warmed Charlotte’s heart.
Even today, Mason still didn’t believe her.
But Ethan did.
To be honest, she was touched.
Sophia sobbed, “Your trust means nothing. This is fact.”
“Is it, Ms. Klein?”
Ethan leisurely reached into Charlotte’s bag and took out a voice recorder.
Seeing the recorder, Sophia’s face instantly changed.
She never imagined Charlotte would have a voice recorder in her bag.
Charlotte hadn’t known about Ethan’s plan either. She had intended to check the security footage, but the voice recorder was far more direct.
“Ms. Klein’s conversation with Charlie was all recorded. Shall we play it for everyone to hear?”
“It’s fake! Whatever’s on there must be fake–it’s been edited!”
Sophia panicked, grabbing Mason’s arm to leave.
“Mason, I’m not feeling well. Can we go home?”
on ignored her. “Ethan, play it. I want to know exactly what happened.”
