Chapter 19
Gasps rippled through the ballroom.
Everyone knew how the elite played this game. The Austin-Robinson engagement had once been seen as a perfect union -power marrying power. And if the couple happened to be in love? All the better.
But Edmond Robinson had broken every unspoken rule. He hadn’t just cheated-he’d forged a marriage and toyed with
Amelia’s feelings.
Now, with the Austins cutting ties, the message was clear: Edmond wasn’t just being abandoned by one family-he was
being cast out of the entire circle. Tomorrow, the other old-money families would follow suit. The Robinson name was
finished.
“No-Amy, you can’t do this to me!”
Edmond exploded in a desperate plea, but before he could take another step toward her, two bodyguards closed in from
both sides and dragged him out of the ballroom.
The wedding resumed, vibrant and joyful, the chaos fading into the background. From the hallway, Edmond could only
watch-helpless-as Amelia and Alfred exchanged rings, and then, their kiss.
His Amelia… was finally someone else’s bride.
A photo of Edmond being tossed out of the wedding, face bloodied, tie undone, went viral on social media.
At first, the public didn’t know what had happened. Rumors flew: Why was the elegant heiress suddenly “remarrying”?
Why had her so-called ex-husband crashed the wedding?
Amelia didn’t stay silent. She posted a statement that read:
[Not a remarriage. This is my first and only wedding.]
[As for the past-I’ve compiled the full story in text and images. Feel free to learn the truth.]
The internet exploded.
Once the full details emerged, Edmond became the target of nationwide condemnation.
“This is insane. He cheated for years, even having a child with his maid, treating his wife like a fool.”
“Correction-she wasn’t even legally his wife. That wasn’t a marriage; it was fraud.”
“Is Edmond blind? How could he trade someone like Amelia for a maid?”
“And that kid doesn’t even look like him. Isn’t it obvious?”
But while the online world fumed, Edmond showed up at Amelia’s new home, standing outside with a bouquet in hand.
“Amy,” he said quietly, “I know you hate me. But the least you can do is let me explain.”

In his arms, he clutched a thick stack of ninety-nine love letters he’d written over the three years he’d chased her.
Amelia’s eyes flickered. She remembered those letters. She hadn’t even noticed him at first-but his persistence had eventually worn her down.
One in particular stood out.
A month before they started dating, he’d heard that someone else liked her and picked a fight with the guy. Got punched in the nose. There was a blotch of blood on the envelope when he delivered the letter anyway.
“Amelia…” Edmond’s voice shook, eyes rimmed red. “Believe it or not, I’ve only ever loved you.”
She sighed softly.
“Love me?” she said, her voice like cold steel. “Do you even believe that yourself?”
“If you loved me, then why did you cheat? Why did you let another woman have your child? Why did you lie to me for seven
years without blinking?”
“You let Blanche steal my project. Did you think of love then? You stood by when she drained our daughter’s blood. Did you think of love then? Her son tried to kill our baby, Edmond. Tell me-where was your love then?”
Her words hit like a flurry of punches, each more brutal than the last. Edmond stood frozen, every syllable leaving a
wound.
Amelia tightened her arms around April and took a step back, eyes wary. “Stay away from me. Go be with your wife
Blanche Flores and your son-Finn Robinson.”
“She’s not my wife!” Edmond choked. “And he’s not my son!”
Amelia paused. Her hand was already on the doorknob, but now she turned back.
Edmond’s face twisted with pain. “That woman-she’s been lying to me from the start. Finn isn’t mine. He’s Blanche’s kid
with her ex. She used me to pay off his debts.”
His fists clenched at his sides, trembling.
“I know talk is cheap,” he continued. “That’s why I’m giving you everything. All my assets, every cent in my name. I’ll throw you the grandest wedding this world has ever seen-just divorce Alfred. Please.”
Amelia lowered her gaze, saying nothing. Hope flickered in Edmond’s chest. He took a step forward, heart racing.
“I know you’re only doing this to get back at me. There’s nothing real between you and Alfred, right? You don’t actually love him…”
“Who told you that?” a calm voice cut in.
