Chapter 17 We’ll Play Separately
A blind date?
Wayne turned cold and roughly undid his shirt buttons.
Florence bombarded Danica’s WhatsApp with voice messages.
They were auto–played, clearly echoing through the room.
“Dani, check out this guy with eight–pack abs! Total gym rat. Imagine sleeping on those muscles.”
“Or this one, a shy, obedient boy. Looks fun to tease.”
“And this elite businessman with gold–rimmed glasses. He’s aloof. Want him to kneel and sing a song for you?”
“Dani, these are fish in your pond. Just pick whatever you like.”
Wayne was speechless.
His lips pressed into a cold, hard line. He’d never known Danica had a group of hot men waiting.
Danica replied with a voice message. “Got it. I’ll be right there.”
She turned around and saw Wayne behind her.
Danica handed him the paper. “Mr. Hamilton, this is Grandma’s herbal tonic recipe. Brew it on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, for one hour in high heat. Make sure she drinks it hot.”
Wayne glanced down. So she’d been writing the recipe earlier.

The page was filled with her delicate handwriting, listing many herbs.
Wayne stared at her. “You know medicine?”
Danica replied casually, “Yeah, I studied a bit.”
Wayne didn’t take the recipe. “For safety’s sake, I’ll have a doctor review this tonic recipe.”
Danica knew Wayne looked down on her, viewing her as a bumpkin.
She understood. After all, he was the golden heir of the Hamiltons.
Danica placed the recipe on the table and grabbed her bag. “I won’t come here again. Find a chance and tell Grandma about our divorce.”
Danica turned to leave.
Wayne grabbed her slender wrist. “Where are you going this late?”
Danica was forced to stop, struggling to free her wrist from his palm. “Mr. Hamilton, let go.”
Wayne studied her icy face, nothing like the woman from last night.
Last night, she was seductive, clinging to him with dewy eyes and kissing him hungrily.
She’d started the fire, but now she looked distant.
Wayne sneered. “Off to meet your eight–pack gym rat, the obedient boy, or the aloof guy? I never knew you were this wild, Danica. Watch out for diseases.”
Danica struck him hard with her free hand.
Wayne’s head snapped sideways from the blow.

Danica hit him so hard that she felt her palm numb.
Eyes blazing crimson, Wayne shoved her backward. Her knees hit the bed, and she fell onto the soft mattress.
The next second, her vision darkened as Wayne’s tall, imposing figure pinned her beneath him. Gazing down at her, he said, “Danica, you really enjoy slapping me, don’t you?”
This was her second time slapping him.
Even Jennifer dared not hit him. One frown from him, and she’d come and coax him eagerly.
Who did Danica think he was? Her personal punching bag?
Danica looked at him coldly. “So you do know sleeping around can catch disease. Funny how you forgot it last night when you sent men to my room.”
Wayne was taken aback.
Danica lay trapped beneath him, her raven hair scattering across the crimson bed sheets in the bridal suite Emelia had personally decorated. The fiery red fabric made her porcelain skin glow, the contrast unbearably alluring.
If she looked like this beneath another man…
Wayne clenched his fist. He wanted to explain that he’d sent her medicine last night, not men.
But the words stuck in his throat.
Danica looked at him and said, “Go away.”
She asked him to go away.

Wayne didn’t budge.
Danica started to struggle. When she recalled that he took Jennifer to Westcourt Villa last night, she didn’t want his touch anywhere near her.
“Wayne, get off! You just slept with Jennifer last night. Did you even shower?”
Wayne was speechless.
He pinned Danica’s hands to the bed and warned her coldly, “Danica, stop struggling!”
She ignored him, thrashing even harder.
Trapped beneath Wayne’s strong figure, her delicate body writhed like a small snake against his. The friction of their bodies through thin fabric sparked a dangerous heat.
Memories attacked Wayne. Last night, Danica clung to him, her lips tracing his skin with hungry kisses.
Desire surged up, darkening his eyes.
Danica soon sensed it, freezing.
She looked at him with dewy eyes in surprise. “Are you…”
Wayne cursed inwardly, releasing her and sitting up abruptly. “No!”
Danica sat up and said, “But…..”
Wayne shot her a glare. “Danica, you’re angry because I chose to stay with Jennifer last night, aren’t you? What are you thinking? Do you think I’ll sleep with you?”

Danica turned pale, humiliated.
Had she imagined his erection? Of course, he’d never want her.
Danica got up. “If that’s how it is, why do you care what men I play with?”
Wayne’s handsome face darkened. “You!”
Danica laughed mockingly at his anger. “When you have time, call me to sign the divorce papers. Until then, you have your fun, I’ll have mine. We’ll play separately.”
Something came across her mind, and Danica glanced at Wayne’s thin lips with her bright eyes. “Practice your kissing skills. Mr. Hamilton, do you even know how to kiss?”
With that, Danica left.
She was gone.
Wayne sat on the bed, his strong chest heaving. Unexplained rage and bitterness cloaked him like a storm cloud.
Damn that woman!
What was wrong with his kissing?
Why did she keep mocking it?
Wayne sneered, thinking that was her trick. Didn’t she want him to kiss her again?
Just like when she’d taunted him about being bad in bed.
Her tricks never changed.
Chapter 17 We’ll Play Separately
Wayne knew Danica, beautiful but brainless, wasn’t his type. His momentary desires for her? Just because he was a normal man.
Suddenly, his phone rang. It was Jennifer calling.
Wayne’s face softened. “Jenny.”
Jennifer chirped excitedly on the phone, “Wayne, come to the bar! Keyon’s back from abroad. Did you forget his welcome party?”
