It was at the Vance’s place.
The night had fallen. Liliana sat on the sofa in the living room, waiting for Rodney in a real–silk nightgown.
Liliana was stunning when she was young. She had been pampered by Davon and later by Rodney, who expanded Davon’s business empire. Now, she was a rich lady who still looked charming.
The villa’s main gate opened, and Rodney was home.
Liliana immediately beamed, stepped forward, and took off his suit jacket. “Honey, why are you so late?”
Unlike Davon, who was honest and simple, Rodney had always been handsome and charming. After years as the CEO, he had only grown more stylish, totally captivating Liliana.
“I had a business dinner tonight,” Rodney said.
Liliana suddenly smelled the perfume on Rodney’s suit. She knew it well. It was from his new secretary.
“Honey, were you with that secretary again?” Liliana asked angrily.
Rodney frowned, “Liliana, why are you always so suspicious? Jenny is in a bad mood because Master V won’t treat her. You should be cheering her up. I’m tired and going upstairs to rest.”
Rodney wanted to go upstairs.
But Liliana said, “I have a way to get Master V.”

Rodney paused, turned back, and put his arm around her shoulder. “Lily, you’re amazing. You never let me down. You’re my treasure.”
Rodney was a master at flattering women, especially someone like Liliana, who loved to be adored.
Liliana leaned into his arms and gave him a flirtatious look. “I have a condition. You have to fire that secretary.”
“No problem. I’ll do it tomorrow,” Rodney said, picking her up in his
arms.
Liliana’s body went limp, and her eyes sparkled with allure. “Didn’t you just say you were tired?” she asked.
Her nightgown parted, revealing sexy lace lingerie underneath. Rodney said wickedly, “Look how seductive you are. Who could resist?”
Liliana playfully hit him. “You’re so bad.”
Rodney smiled lewdly, “Don’t you like it?”

The next day, Danica received a call from Liliana.
Liliana sounded like a good mother. “Dani, I was wrong at the hospital. I have prepared all your favorite dishes. Come home.
Florence stuck her head out from the kitchen. “Dani, don’t go. She’s just Rodney’s puppet. At her age, she’s still lovesick. There’s no hope for her.”
Danica said indifferently, “I’m not available.”
With that, she was about to hang up.

But Liliana said, “Dani, your dad kept a bottle of Lafite for you when you were born. He wanted you to drink it when you grew up. I’ve brought it back. Come back.”
Danica blinked. Liliana knew exactly how to get to her.

Danica arrived at the Vance’s place. Rodney and Jennifer were gone, but Liliana had prepared a lavish meal, with the bottle of Lafite on the table.
The word “Lafite” was written in Davon’s clumsy handwriting. Unlike Rodney, who was college–educated, Davon built his business from scratch.
Danica slowly traced the word “Lafite” with her slender finger. She had once had a happy childhood and was the apple of Davon’s eye.
Liliana was in a great mood, her face glowing with the happiness of being pampered. She opened the bottle of Lafite and poured two glasses of wine, one for herself and one for Danica.
“Dani, cheers,” Liliana said.
Danica looked at Liliana and asked coldly, “How exactly did my dad die?”
The question made Liliana’s hand tremble, and the wine almost spilled.
Liliana looked away nervously. “Dani, your dad… died of an illness. Even if I told you, you wouldn’t understand. You’re not a doctor!”
Danica sneered and downed a glass of wine in one go. She would find out how Davon died.

Danica was about to leave when Albert appeared. He walked over.
Danica frowned, “Who are you?”
Albert was middle–aged, looking gentle on the outside, but he sized Danica up and down with a lewd smile.
Liliana put down the glass of wine and said, “Dani, this is Dr. Bryant from Charhelm Hospital. He knows Master V and can get her to treat Jenny.”
Danica looked at Albert, wondering, “He knows Master V? Interesting.”
Danica smiled, “So?”
Liliana dropped her motherly facade. “Dani, sleep with Dr. Bryant, and Jenny will be saved.”
Danica thought, “To save Jennifer, my own mother wants me to sleep with a man? So this is the real reason Liliana called me back.”
Danica felt her body go weak. It was so hot.
Something was off.
She looked at the bottle of Lafite. It finally hit her that Liliana had drugged her in Davon’s wine.
Liliana would do anything to please Rodney.
Danica’s clear eyes turned bloodshot with disappointment as she looked at Liliana.
She didn’t know what she had done wrong. Why was she never loved?

Liliana avoided her gaze and turned to Albert. “Dr. Bryant, she’s all yours.”
Albert rubbed his hands excitedly and lunged at Danica. “Little angel, come here! You’re so beautiful. Let me see how wild you are in bed!”
Liliana left.

As soon as Liliana was gone, Albert collapsed to the ground, knocked out by drugs.
Danica felt her cheeks burning. Liliana’s drug was very strong.
She reached for her waist, wanting to take out her medical tools, but they were gone. She had left them in the villa.
Danica rushed back to the villa as fast as she could. She hadn’t been back since she moved out with her suitcase.
She went into the master bedroom to look for her medical tools but couldn’t find them.
Kelsey must have thrown them away while cleaning.
Danica couldn’t hold her liquor. The after–effects of the Lafite were kicking in. Her head was spinning, and the reason she had been clinging to was being washed away by the surging heat in her body.
At that moment, steady footsteps approached from outside the door. Someone was back.
Was it Wayne?
Danica’s eyes lit up.
