Chapter 25
Camilla wasn’t having it. “We asked you to come so you could
explain why you and your family went back on your word.
That’s it.”
Jadeana went pale. “Don’t lecture me. We don’t owe you
anything. If you’re so capable, why didn’t you just get Stuart to
kick them out?”
“Then maybe I’ll call my family over and let them know you
guys locked me in. Would that work better for you?”
That shut her right up.
Camilla had a sharp tongue, and Jadeana knew better than to go
up against her. Cornered, she turned on Aurora and Nicholas.
“Hey, what are you two even doing? I told you yesterday that
you’re not welcome here. You were not listening, were you?”
“Or do you think latching on to Edward is gonna score you a cushy life forever? Is that why you keep showing up?”
“Look, Edward might be an idiot, but the rest of us aren’t. We
know exactly what game you’re playing. Get out while you still
can,” Jadeana said, glancing Camilla’s way.
Chapter 25
Camilla was sitting there, calm and deadpan, like it had nothing
to do with her.
Jadeana had hoped Camilla would jump in and help out. But
Camilla looked like she was enjoying the show. It made
Jadeana’s blood boil, but she kept going.
“Aurora, we made ourselves clear yesterday. Take your son and
go back to where you belong. We’ll keep sending the money. If
you keep dragging this out, you’ll regret it.”
Rich people like them had plenty of ways to make someone disappear, especially if they refused to let go. Jadeana had held
back so far only because of Edward.
But if Aurora and Nicholas dragged him down, his family
wouldn’t hesitate to end them.
Aurora met her eyes and froze. She had been around long enough to know just how nasty these people could get. She
wanted financial security, maybe even a shot at marrying in,
but not if it put her in danger.
“We’re not here to cause trouble,” Aurora said quickly. “Edward
got hurt because of us. We just wanted to check on him before
leaving. Just to say goodbye!”
The truth was that she and her son were hanging on, hoping for

one last shot.
Next to her, Nicholas started crying. It got so bad that Edward dialed Stuart from upstairs, asking what was going on.
Stuart was scared and handed the phone to Jadeana.
She snapped, “Stuart, you knew Edward would hear all this.
Why the hell did you even let them in?”
Then she snatched the phone and hung up.
“Aurora, take your son and go. Don’t come back. We’ll keep
sending money since your husband’s gone. Or you can get a job
and figure it out yourself!””
Aurora and Nicholas didn’t move.
Camilla watched and clicked her tongue, amused.
Jadeana looked miserable.
“Camilla, these two shameless people are here causing trouble.
You’re the lady of the house. Are you seriously just going to let
them get away with this? I’ve been shouting for ages. Aren’t you
going to help me get rid of them?”
Camilla smiled, “You could’ve just had security or the maids kick
them out. But you didn’t. Do you want me to handle it? Fine by

me.”
Jadeana nodded, pointing at Aurora and Nicholas, signaling her
to deal with them.
Camilla took out her phone and called 911.
“Hello, officer. There are two people breaking into my house. I
can’t get them out. And I’m being held against my will. My
security, maid, and butler won’t let me leave! My address is No.
6, Grandview Villas, Cloud Street. Please send someone over.“”
