Chapter 16
Camilla nodded and remembered his advice. Since she felt that it was a bit risky, she decided to put it on hold for now.
After she walked out of the office, Daniela insisted on dragging
her to the pub owned by Kieran to have some fun.
Daniela said, “Since he upsets you with Aurora, why don’t you return the favor? He left you for her on your wedding night and
was with her the next day. Because of him, you were
heartbroken and drowned your sorrows alone in some pub. If
word gets out, all of high society will be pointing fingers at him.”
Daniela wasn’t in Camilla’s meeting with Ralph and didn’t know
Camilla’s plan. She just didn’t want to see Camilla upset.
Arriving at the pub, Camilla was still feeling down. She ordered
a glass of wine and sat down quietly.
On stage, several toned dancers in sheer silk shirts were dancing
while making all kinds of suggestive moves, but she wasn’t in
the mood to enjoy.
Just then, a good–looking young man walked over and sat
beside her with a drink.

“Hey, pretty. My name is Waylon Irving. Mind if I join you?”
Being disturbed, Camilla frowned, feeling even more irked.
However, Waylon was oblivious to her mood. He continued, “I’m here alone. May I have the honor to know your name?”
Figuring he was someone looking for a fling, she turned around
and ignored him.
However, Daniela said, “Nice to meet
u,
Waylon. Meet
Camilla here. She’s down because of some relationship issues.
It’ll be greatly appreciated if you can soothe her and make her
feel better.”
Though Camilla wanted a divorce, she had never thought of
cheating. She glared at Daniela right away.
Meeting her gaze, Daniela stuck out her tongue awkwardly and
didn’t say anything else.
Waylon smiled, “Hello, Camilla. Don’t get me wrong–I mean no
harm. It’s just that I couldn’t walk away without meeting
someone as pretty as you, so I came forward for a chat.”
Camilla took a sip of her wine, showing no reaction to his
flattery.

However, as she saw Kieran passing by, she picked up her glass
and clinked it with his. “Hi. I’m Camilla Lockhart.”
He shook her hand and even reached out to brush off some
confetti that had fallen into her hair.
Seeing how intimate they seemed, Kieran instantly pulled a long
face. He strode over and grabbed Camilla’s hand to drag her
toward the office area.
The pub staff stopped Daniela from following them, whereas
Waylon looked at their retreating figures curiously.
Once entering the office, Kieran scolded Camilla harshly.
“You’re here to get drunk and hooked up just to get back at
Edward? Gosh, Camilla, just cut it out, OK? You, a newlywed,
are actually here in a pub, seducing strangers? Aren’t you
worried about criticism?
“You’re the daughter of the Lockhart family, the
granddaughter–in–law of the Paxton family! You gotta be
responsible for your actions. No matter what, you shouldn’t do
anything to jeopardize the two families‘ businesses and
reputations. That’s the bottom line. Don’t be so selfish. When
you do things, think about our family.
“I’m warning you–don’t see that man again. I know you want a

divorce, but there are limits. Our family name carries weight in
Crysston, and I’ll never let you do anything to ruin our
reputation for your personal grudges.”
Despite his tirade, Camilla didn’t even lift her head up.

Crossing her legs, she leaned against the sofa and checked her
phone at ease.
“Camillá! Are you even listening to me?” Kieran snapped.
