Chapter 13
“I’m here. Go ahead and apologize to me.”
She pushed open the door, which gave the three a fright.
Noticing the looks on their faces, Camilla said again, “I heard
that you wanna apologize to me. Well? I’m right here. Go ahead.”‘
Aurora parted her lips.
Meanwhile, Camilla continued, “All three of you knew you
were wrong, right? So, go ahead and apologize. I’ll record the whole thing and send the video to the family group later so that
everyone can judge for themselves.”
Hearing this, Aurora, Nicholas, and Edward fell silent, unsure of
what to do.
After quite a while, Aurora came back to her senses and tugged
at Nicholas‘ sleeve.
He caught her drift and said to Camilla right away, “I’m so sorry
that I got sick yesterday. Please don’t get mad at us.”
Aurora immediately echoed, “Ms. Lockhart, we’re really sorry. I
shouldn’t have ruined your wedding night just because Nico fell

sick.”
Camilla glanced at Edward. “What about you? You got anything
to say to me?”
The icy expression on her face stunned Edward. He said, almost
muttering, “I’m sorry, Camilla.”
Camilla snorted, “Though you’ve apologized to me, I have the
right not to forgive you. Since you upset me, I’m gonna return
the favor.”
The three all looked so bitter.
Aurora was once again the quickest one to respond. She pursed
her lips and said, “I’m deeply sorry, Ms. Lockhart. Please, I’m
begging you. Could you forgive Edward?”
She decisively bowed to Camilla, and Nicholas followed suit.
The expressions on their faces were so genuine that anyone
who saw them would feel sorry for them.
It broke Edward’s heart, and he felt guilty when he thought of
Elijah. Furious, he struggled to get up and said, “Camilla, enough
is enough! It’s already in the past. Why can’t you just let it go?”
Hearing this, Camilla looked down at him. He was in great pain

and couldn’t even get up, yet he was so anxious about Aurora and Nicholas that he seemed to forget the pain. Seeing this, she
was even more pissed off.
She ridiculed, “You can still get up? It seems your family didn’t
beat you up hard last night. You know what, Edward? I know
exactly what you and your family are thinking. I’m telling you–I
will get a divorce.”
Her indifferent expression and harsh words made Edward
nearly choke on his breath.
He burst into violent coughing, and his cheeks heated. The
coughing racked his body and tugged at his wounds, making
him grimace in pain uncontrollably.
Aurora immediately approached him and patted his back
gently.
“Edward, don’t get mad at Ms. Lockhart. She’s your wife. I hate
to see you have a row with her because of us. It’s all our fault. I
blame Elijah–none of this would have happened if he hadn’t died
so early!”‘
Camilla took a photo of their intimate moment, sent it to the
family group chat, and then put her phone away.
Then she said, “I’m set to get a divorce at all costs. Edward, I look

forward to dragging you and your entire family down.”
It took Edward a while to finally calm down. He glared at her,
the killing intent in his eyes palpable.
As he recalled William’s warning from last night, he took a deep
breath to suppress his anger.
Feigning helplessness, he said with difficulty, “Camilla, what
happened? You’re like a different person now. In the past, you’d
never be so mean no matter how upset you were. We’re a
married couple. You shouldn’t treat me like this.”
