Chapter 7
As soon as Leanna stepped out of the car at the port, pulling her suitcase, she noticed a man in a gray coat enthusiastically waving at her.
“Leanna!”
Ethan, who had long harbored feelings for her, felt his calm demeanor vanish as his eyes sparkled with excitement.
Ignoring the assortment of bags around him, he hurried over to Leanna and offered to take her luggage.
“Let me carry that for you,” he said.

Leanna wasn’t usually the sentimental type. Still, she and Ethan were meant to be husband and wife, sharing their lives together. She knew she had to get accustomed to him eventually.
So, she passed her suitcase to him and offered a slight smile. “Thank you,” she said.
Her voice, as clear as a mountain spring, reached Ethan’s ears, causing them to redden.
He scratched his head awkwardly and gave a bashful laugh. “Well, we’re family now,” he said.
Family?
Leanna halted and instinctively glanced up at Ethan beside her.

Chapter 7
It was the first time in years she truly observed the man next to her.
According to the rumors circulating among their old high school friends, it was obvious that Ethan had strong feelings for her.
He liked her so much that over the years, he turned down every blind date his parents arranged for him.
He liked her so much that he politely refused all the advances from numerous bold women who pursued him.
Even during the years when she was “widowed,” despite all the gossip and rumors, he patiently waited for her approval.
Even now, as she looked at him, he was sneaking glances at her from the corner of his eye. Whenever their eyes met, he would quickly act indifferent and look away, with only his reddened cheeks betraying his true emotions.
The humorous scene made her chuckle, but then Leanna seemed to remember something. With a serious look, she was the first to call out
his name.
“Ethan, there’s something I want to discuss with you.”
Having fully decided to move on from Brenton, leave past experiences. behind, and draw a clear boundary with people and events from her past, she wanted to start a new life with the man before her. To do this, she needed to make the necessary promises and address everything that needed to be said to prevent any future misunderstandings.
Noticing her seriousness, Ethan mirrored her expression, wiping the excited grin from his face and looking at her solemnly.
“Go ahead.”

Chapter 7
Leanna took a deep breath and said, “I’m sure you’re aware of my past, right?”
How could Ethan not have known? Ever since he first laid eyes on Leanna and fell for her, he had quietly observed her from afar. So when he heard that she was now a widow, he hoped it was his chance.
Ethan quickly nodded in response.
Leanna smiled and said, “But what I want to tell you is that my
husband didn’t die.”
The moment those words hit him, Ethan’s mind went utterly blank. He didn’t even realize that the items he was holding had fallen to the floor. His heart was a whirlwind of emotions.
Her husband being alive–what did that mean for him?
Was his long–held dream about to be shattered once more?
He hadn’t even gotten the opportunity to reveal the deep love he had been nurturing for years. Was he about to lose her all over again?
Ethan was deep in his jumbled thoughts when he felt a small, warm hand gently clasp his, accompanied by a calming voice in his ear.
“Don’t worry, I won’t go back to him. Our marriage ended the moment. he was declared dead. Besides, he’s now married to the eldest son’s wife in the Anderson family.”
“W–What?”
Ethan was stunned by this series of revelations and was unable to recover his composure for quite some time.
So, Leanna explained everything to him: how Brenton had been posing
as her older brother, having an affair with Crystal, and intending to reunite with her after the child was born.
“Even if he shows up one day and asks me to go with him, you don’t have to worry. He doesn’t have any proof to show that he is Brenton.”
