Chapter 114
Jessica booked a study room and, with Elise, helped Ivan study. Two top students helping one struggler had an instant effect.
Ivan had been in a bad mood these past few days, and today he was especially off. Jessica was explaining problems to him, but he seemed distracted.
Jessica kicked Elise’s chair lightly and said, “I’m going to get lunch. You check Ivan’s problems from yesterday first.” Elise glanced quickly at Ivan and nodded. “Okay.”
Jessica left the study room and immediately called Audrey. “Ms. Henderson, Elise and I miss you.”
Audrey was just washing her hands in the restroom, holding the phone between her ear and shoulder, and chuckled, “You really miss me, or do you want me to solve a problem?”
“I really miss you!” Jessica laughed, “And I want you to help solve a problem too.” She explained Ivan’s unusual behavior, and Audrey asked for the address, promising to come by during lunch break.
Jessica hung up and looked up to see Riley standing right at the entrance of the drink shop.
Riley smiled and walked over, handing her a drink. “Jessica, I heard Ivan’s scores improved so fast because you tutored him. Can I join your study group?”
Jessica glanced at the coffee in front of her–it wasn’t a regular sealed cup. She looked away and said coolly, “Ms. Henderson often gives us lectures. Don’t you dislike her?”
A flash of resentment crossed Riley’s eyes, but she quickly smiled again. “I misunderstood before. Now that she’s divorced my uncle, I think she’s actually pretty nice. Besides, if it helps my grades, I’d even apologize to her!”
She pushed the coffee a little closer. Jessica took it and looked at the cup in Riley’s hand.
Riley paused for a moment, then gave Jessica her own cup too. “This one has no sugar. Give it to Ivan and say something nice for me.”
Jessica compared the two coffees; the ingredients were exactly the same. She stood at the crosswalk waiting for the light to change and said calmly, “l heard your uncle’s new wife likes to abuse kids?”
“Who said that?” Riley snapped, then remembered her goal and quickly smiled. “My new aunt would never abuse a child. It was her ex–husband who did
that!”
Jessica nodded.
Riley touched the Bluetooth earpiece hidden in her hair, feeling a bit nervous about what was next. She glanced sideways at Jessica.
Jessica’s clothes were plain, but her watch and shoes were limited edition collaborations, and her phone was more expensive than her whole outfit
combined.
There was no way her dad was honest. He probably stole even more than her grandfather, just hiding it better.
Jessica suddenly leaned forward, and Riley thought the light had turned green, so she instinctively stepped forward. A motor scooter sped by, but Jessica reacted quickly and grabbed her.
“Watch where you’re walking!” a man yelled as he sped off.
Riley was speechless.
When the light turned green, Jessica crossed the street, and Riley followed behind with a dark expression. Her resentment toward Jessica just grew.
After crossing, Jessica handed her a cup of coffee. “I just remembered Ivan doesn’t drink coffee. You take this one.”
Riley rolled her eyes in her head but took the cup and took a sip. After swallowing, she looked at Jessica. “You’re drinking it too?”

Chapter 114
“Yeah.” Jessica opened the lid and took a small sip.
Seeing Jessica drink, Riley finally smiled proudly, “Alright, I’ll wait for your news. I’m off now!”
She hurried off to the side and proudly called Valerie, “She drank it already. I’m contacting some thugs to come get her and take her to a motel for a video shoot!”
“Just pretend; don’t hurt her,” Valerie reminded her on the phone.
“Got it!” Riley hung up and immediately messaged the thugs she had arranged. [She’s about to pass out. Bring her to shoot some intense videos and send them to me.]
Riley sent them the location, sipping her coffee as she waited for the show. If her dad and uncle couldn’t handle this, she could easily manage.
Once Gabriel saw his daughter’s video, he’d help reduce grandpa’s sentence. Then Riley would be the family hero! The thought made her happier, and she gulped down the coffee.
Jessica entered the fast–food place and immediately called Calvin. “Mr. Jenkins, I just ran into Riley. She seemed to be waiting for me and even bought me coffee.”
“Don’t touch anything she gives you!” Calvin said sternly.
“I pretended to take a sip but didn’t swallow.” Jessica added. “She bought two cups. When I helped her up, I swapped them. She drank the one meant for
me.”
Calvin sighed in relief, “Don’t move, I’m coming right over.”
Calvin and Yann were nearby running errands. When he arrived, he saw two thugs coming out of an alley, one yellow–haired kid carrying a girl.
The girl’s hand hung limply on the yellow–haired kid’s shoulder, her head tilted, and one Bluetooth earbud fell off as they crossed the street.
Seeing Calvin, Jessica rushed out of the shop but stopped at the door when Calvin gave her a warning look.
Calvin called Jessica. “Mr. Jenkins, the yellow–haired kid is carrying Riley!” Jessica said anxiously.
Calvin’s eyes turned cold and hard, locking onto the group crossing the street. “You go back to the study room. I’ll have someone bring you lunch later.”
Jessica said, “Okay.”
“Keep the coffee you have. It could be evidence.” Calvin reminded her and hung up.
Jessica left the fast–food place and started walking back. She only remembered after crossing the street that she hadn’t told Calvin that Audrey would
come by.
The yellow–haired guy and Riley only connected through WhatsApp. They didn’t know each other personally, r location and Riley unconscious, it had to be her.

Riley gave him 200 dollars to take intimate photos at a motel. The yellow–haired guy swallowed the money and took her to a nearby warehouse.
The warehouse was hot and stuffy. Both had taken off their shirts–one was filming, the other posing with Riley.
They’d agreed it would just be staged. But the girl was so pretty, and unconscious… Only a fool wouldn’t take advantage. But once he started, he couldn’t stop. Things spiraled out of control.
Riley woke up from pain and screamed seeing the ugly, creepy yellow–haired kid. “You got the wrong person! You got the wrong person!”
“Shut up!” The yellow–haired kid covered her mouth and moved wildly. “Who told you to mess with the wrong people? This is your lesson!”
Riley shook her head hard, tears streaming down.

Chapter 114
Calvin, pretending to inspect rental warehouses with the manager, suddenly heard a woman’s crying and pleading.
Soon, a blond guy and a buzz–cut guy ran out in a panic.
“Stop!” the manager shouted, but the two ran even faster.
Calvin went with the manager to the warehouse and saw a girl curled up in a mess of clothes, crying uncontrollably. Calvin kindly called the police for help.
Alexa was doing her hair when she got the call from the police, and she was completely stunned.
