Chapter 103
“No, Just live nearby and happened to walk by, so I stopped to take a look,” Audrey explained simply.
The property manager wore a sycophantic simile plastered all over his face. His eyes darted around nonstop, as if trying to see right through Audrey You must be Audrey, right?”
Audrey was slightly taken aback and couldn’t help feeling a bit surprised. “You know me?”
Her gaze landed on this unfamiliar propeler,
trying to read some clue from his expression and demeanor.
The property manager quickly nodded and bowed repeatedly, answering, “Audrey is the esteemed owner of Unit 16, When you moved in, all the information was thoroughly recorded.
“This is actually the first time I’ve met you in person.
villa in our Royal House.”
hat such a young and beautiful lady like you could own such a high–end
As he spoke, the property manager couldn’t resist giving a thumbs–up, layin
e flattery with everything he had.
Those Royal House villas weren’t something just anyone could afford. Even an average unit started at tens of millions, and the truly premium layouts could cost over a hundred million.
Female owners were rare there. So when a young, beautiful, and capable woman like Audrey came along, it was truly a cause for excitement for the
property manager.
“Rest assured, I’ve already had the neighbors who are renovating sign the proper agreements to ensure they won’t disturb your normal rest during the renovation period.” The property manager solemnly promised Audrey.
His expression shifted, suddenly turning serious as he glanced at Lucas. His voice turned harsh. “Especially you–remember this! No construction or renovations on weekends or holidays. On weekdays, you can only work during permitted hours.
“Also, all renovation debris must be cleaned up promptly. You can’t let this affect the other owners‘ daily movements! Understand?”
Lucas kept staring at Audrey without blinking, a trace of puzzlement in his eyes. After a moment, he couldn’t help but ask, “Um… have we met somewhere before?”
Audrey was certain she had been in the car today, and Lucas wouldn’t have seen her. Before that, she hadn’t met him either.
“I don’t think so,” she said coldly, turning to leave.
Lucas wanted to say something else, but was pulled away by the property manager to sign the contract.
He was the supervisor at the renovation company. Having lost a lot of money in a divorce lawsuit, the Ironhaven branch was more profitable, so he came here to develop his career.
“Focus on your own job and don’t think about things you shouldn’t,” the property manager warned sharply, “The Royal House owners are all wealthy or noble. They’re not someone you should provoke.”
Audrey walked away, turning over the property manager’s words in her mind. She thought, ‘I am an owner here? But wasn’t the house lent temporarily to Yann by a partner?‘
A thought suddenly surfaced. Joy and fear alternated in her heart. She quickened her pace until suddenly a shadow appeared in front of her. Audrey raised her hand and threw a punch.
“It’s me,” the visitor said, holding her wrist.
Audrey looked at the tall man in front of her, withdrew her hand, and said, “Let’s go?”

Yann nodded and turned to walk with her along the path:
They walked all the way to the waterside pavilion before Audrey stopped. “That house isn’t yours,” she said, pointing toward the villa
“Yeah. Yann nodded. “It’s not.”
“Then why is it under my name?”
Yann was straightforward. “It’s a gift for you.”
Audrey turned her head, took a deep breath, and looked back at Yann. “You and Calvin aren’t a thing?”
The man frowned. “No.”
The words “You like me?” hovered on Audrey’s lips, but she couldn’t say them out loud. Yann was just too outstanding, his dazzling brilliance impossible to look directly at.
Even though she wasn’t married yet, the gap between them felt like an unbridgeable chasm. Not to mention, she had a troubled past.
Thinking this, she touched her nose and then ran her fingers through her slightly messy hair.
Right now, her heart felt like a pot of mixed spices had been upended inside–sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, salty–all swirling together so she didn’t even know where to begin.
Was it what he felt for her love, friendship, or family affection? She couldn’t tell.
Yann just quietly stared at her.
His gaze seemed gentle like water, yet like an invisible net, tightly enclosing her so that no matter how she struggled, escape was impossible.
Finally, Yann broke the suffocating silence first.
“You once said that no matter who I like, you’d fully support my choice.” His voice was low and magnetic, like a heavenly melody.
Hearing this, Audrey opened her mouth to say something but swallowed it back, leaving only a “but” lingering in the air.
“One must not be unfaithful to their words,” Yann smiled slightly. The smile was as warm as spring sunshine, yet carried an unshakable firmness.
Audrey slowly lowered her head like a flower losing its moisture, instantly drooping. She stayed silent for a long while before slightly nodding, acknowledging Yann’s words.
At that moment, she intended to put her hands into her pockets to hide her inner unease, but unexpectedly felt a warm, strong hand firmly grasp hers.
“Don’t you feel anything at all?” Yann asked softly, his tone tinged with helplessness and disappointment.
“W–what?” Audrey looked up blankly, confusion and bewilderment in her eyes.
“I’m pursuing you,” Yann said straightforwardly. Then he squeezed her hand even tighter, as if afraid she’d suddenly run away like two years ago.
Audrey’s head buzzed, and she was stunned. A panic she’d never felt before surged up, causing her to frantically try to pull back her tightly held right hand.
But the tighter she struggled, the tighter his hand gripped, showing no sign of letting go.
“Set a trial period,” Yann said again.
His voice was full of sincere emotion and longing for love. At this moment, his large palms not only gave Audrey warmth and strength but also conveyed a sense of belonging that comforted her.,

For some reason, Audrey suddenly felt a sting in her nose. Her eyes gradually grew moist. She quickly turned her head away, trying hard to hold back the tears from spilling out.
“Time flies.” Yann cupped her face, making her look into his eyes. “Try it out, and I promise you’ll be satisfied.”
Audrey’s long eyelashes held a tear as she stared into his eyes and asked, “I have a question. Answer me truthfully.”
