Chapter Nineteen!
Amara’s Povi
The day of my wedding finally arrived and I had happy jitters. My only worry and concern was the fact that Kason was still out there on the loose and hadn’t been caught.”
We had announced our wedding just yesterday to keep everything under control.
Although Jake reassured me that he had taken full precautionary measures and if he indeed showed up today he’d be caught and jailed forever.
He had taken all the necessary steps, he got each of us a doppelgänger to impersonate us and drive ahead in the luxury decorated car to the wedding venue while we drove in one of the random convoy cars.
Just as Jake had expected an attack to happen on our way, he held me closer as several sniper bullets hit the decorated car. It’s a good thing it’s a bulletproof car. Our impersonators would have been severely injured.”
The sniper, although hidden, was quickly apprehended by the police’s timely intervention. The man, a hired dangerous assassin, immediately confessed that it was Kason who had hired him to shoot at Jake and kill him.}
But once more, again, Kason evaded arrest by disappearing into thin air. Jake was still optimistic that he’d be caught today.}
The wedding venue was all I had ever dreamed of my wedding to be, I had no family members to walk me down the aisle. Jake’s dad insisted on it.
“Please, it’ll be my honor and call me Dad now please.“}
nodded, blinking past the happy tears in my eyes. Our guests cheered and applauded as I and Jake read our vows. The officiating nodded, minister asks, “Is there anyone here who objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace.”}
The hall is perfectly silent, and for a second, I was fooled into thinking Kason wouldn’t bring his dirty tricks here.
He stood up suddenly from the front row seat where he had strategically hidden himself a black hoodie over his head, a gun aimed at Jake.
In a solid second, he fired the gun, and Jake fell to the ground. I screamed in horror holding him.}
The police security immediately apprehended Kason, disarming him; he spoke like a deranged person. Looking at me with pleading desperate eyes.
“Now we can be together, there’s no obstacle. Tell them to release me. I’ll be your groom.” His voice echoed through the hall as all our guests were too stunned to speak at what just occurred.}
“Take him away; I’ll make sure you get capital punishment for this,” I screamed through my tears; I felt like the ground should open and take me alongside Jake.
But to my surprise I felt Jake tug my hand, he chuckled in amusement.}
I realized he was wearing a bulletproof shirt; he held me as I wept with relief. The whole hall stood up and applauded with relieved expressions.
Kason kicked and screamed as he was being carried away.
The wedding went on smoothly and continued to be the talk of the world for months.
Following Kason’s trial he was imprisoned for life with hard labor each day of his life.
The political position Jake wanted was handed over to him when his opponent came out to contest, and he was brutally exposed for his dirty political game and shamed by the public.
When news got out that Jake had originally wanted the position, the public protested, and the prime minister started panicking.” “Please, Jake I’m so sorry about everything. Save me this one time and reconsider the position.“}
Jake had rejected it, wanting to teach him a position, but when I reminded him it was for the good of the public, he accepted it.”
