Amara’s POV
Everything seemed to be going really well, although I was feeling under the weather, I gave Jake my full support to go have the meeting with the prime minister concerning the position I had advised him to go for
He had a good heart to help the people and I didn’t want him to get exploited by people in power claiming to help the needy anymore. Although he isn’t really interested in the position I think it’ll be good.M
Also, my secret wedding was happening just a week from now, we hadn’t announced it to the public for safety purposes. But we had invited very important guests from all over the world.N
My baby was okay, life was great!
Although I felt hurt about the loss of my mother, I was comforted knowing she was no longer in pain and reunited with my Dad. Words can’t express my gratitude to my love, Jake, for insisting we go to the hospital that evening.
My mother–in–law rushed into my room, holding her phone, looking worried, “Dear, please don’t believe any of the lies on the internet. I think someone is trying to ruin the relationship between you and my son.“W
I was confused by her words but reassured her, “Don’t worry about it; I know what it’s like to be manipulated and lied against. I don’t easily believe any bad things about someone.“N
My words seemed to relieve her, she gave me a warm hug, “Good, don’t worry, we’ll get to the bottom of this.”
I nodded in confusion. I took out my cell phone and quickly went online, my hands in anger when I read all the false fabrications against Jake, who would do such an atrocious thing to such a sweet man?N
My heart whispered to me that I knew the answer already; it was Kason, who was the king of creating scandals Tears of anger and frustration ran down my cheeks freely, all this was only happening to Jake because of me.
Jake enters the room looking like he is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders; he runs to me immediately.
“It’s all a lie, I’ve never cheated on you and never will. Please don’t leave me, my ex is also lying. I’ve never raised my hand on a woman, and I don’t own any of the……“N
I placed my fingers on his lips, stopping his words. He wasn’t even worried about the lies spreading about him but me believing them and leaving him.
“I didn’t doubt your innocence for a second. I’m sorry. I know it’s Kason who must have orchestrated the whole thing. I’m sorry I’m bringing all this negative drama into your life.“N
This time, he covered my lips with his, kissing the rest of my words away. “I’ll have you a million times even with worse drama. Don’t worry about it, I’ll handle this up in a few hours. I was just worried you’ll believe it and leave me.“N
“I would never leave you, I love you.” I blurted out before I could stop myself. Jake grinned from ear to ear and I turned a deep shade of red.
“I love you even more Amara.“N
Kason’s POV
My eyes got tired, and I dozed off for a few minutes, taking my eyes off the screen only to realize my system was buzzing again. I opened my eyes and checked my anonymous post, only to see it had been deleted.N
My eyes widened in rage and shock.N
“No…no.. no.” I got up screaming in rage, trying to recover the account, but it was blocked and deleted permanently.M
To add salt to injury, Cassandra had just posted a fearful and repentant apology message to Jake attaching the receipt of the hundred million dollars I had paid her with the instructions to lie against him.N
After being slammed with a billion–dollar defamation lawsuit.N
Once more, I was under fire on social media, and everyone was back to loving and praising Jake, apologizing for believing the fake news.M But that wasn’t the biggest problem. The authorities had sent out pictures of me, calling me an unrepentant criminal. Offering a reward for anyone who could bring me in faster than the police.N
Panic shot up into my veins; I had to get out of there fast. I threw on a face cap and black hoodie and grabbed my backpack, stuffing my gadgets and wads of cash into it.”
I heard a loud doorbell, and in a split second, heavy footsteps coming up my stairs. Thinking fast I climbed down the window and escaped with my backpack on foot.
I found my way into an isolated hotel and paid for a couple of days carefully so that I wouldn’t be recognized. Jake may think he is all untouchable and has the power to lock me up forever while he lives happily with Amara.
But he is wrong, this isn’t over. I still had one more trick up my sleeve. I heard about the wedding, and I know the location.
If I can’t have Amara, then no one can. I had trashed my sim earlier, so I couldn’t be tracked, but it was a good thing I had saved so many. important numbers to my iCloud.”
I used the hotel telephone to contact the most dangerous and efficient man I know. I was going to once more ruin Amara’s wedding and be the groom again.
I smirked darkly as he picked up the call, “Hello.” He said.
“Hello, it’s me, Kason, I have a job for you,” I responded.
