Chapter Seventeen
Kason’s POV
When I woke up the next morning I got the notification on my phone that Amara and Chrissy’s mother had passed away earlier the day before. To my surprise Amara was there with her mum during her final hours.
Hope sparked up in my chest, if Amara could forgive her mother and grant her a peaceful rest then she could surely forgive me and move on from the past.
But a still I had to post the pictures and videos to create cracks in their relationship, I had also contacted Cassandra Jake’s ex girlfriend to back up the lies and fake articles.N
And she agreed to it, smriking I brewed hot cup of coffee and posted everything. Now it was time to sit back kick my legs in the air and relax.
I sat down on my bed watching intently the reactions to the post I had made. My heart leaped for joy when I saw the negative comments and responses.N
“Wow so this man is a bad man, I can’t believe we all thought he was a good guy. Amara please be careful.”}
“Who would have thought such a wealthy and powerful man would have such evil vices.”
I couldn’t stop myself from laughing hysterically, I had paid Cassandra 100 million dollars to also corroborate the fake news I had fabricated against Jake.N
Her post was number two trending on the social media app with mine in number one. I downed the rest of the coffee today was going to be a long day, not even Jake and Amara’s perfect love would be able to survive this.”
Jake’s Pov
I had an important meeting with the prime minister today about securing an important political position in the near future.}
Luckily for me till now I have no scandal or hidden skeletons in my cupboard that could stand in my way or tarnish my image. I was thinking of running for a vital role so I can make an impact.
In the past and recent times, I had always willingly supported others in power with huge donations to help under funded projects and areas but they ended up being corrupt and stealing my money for their own use.
It wasn’t till Amara suggested to me that I realized the only one capable of implementing the chage I wanted to see was me. The prime minister was excited at my interest and set up a meeting.
I had Amara’s guidance and believe in me to thank for opening my mind to such a possibility. I had asked her to follow me for the meeting but she declined feeling a bit under the weather.
It was the pregnancy hormones, I couldn’t but smirk at the thought that I’ll be a father soon. Amara brought the kind of joy and favor to my life that my money couldn’t pay for.
I entered the prime minister’s office and I’m warmly greeted by the staff. But the atmosphere was tense and the prime minister had a disappointed look on his face. I furrow my brows in confusion, and quickly glance at my watch suspecting his reason for being upset could be my tardiness.
But I was ten minutes early.
“Well look who is here. If it isn’t the man who owns the biggest underground human trafficking and beat up his ex–girlfriend till she miscarried their baby.”
Angrily, I turned to see the man who was also vying for the same position as me. “Excuse, what’s this baseless accusation about. I must warn you I do not take defamation kindly.” I kept a cool and calm expression not wanting to show how much his words infuriated me.
I clenched my fists in anger, reminding myself not to stoop to his level. He was a dirty politician known for his dirty tricks.
He smiled seeing my slight agitation, “It’s all over the Internet. You may like to check your phone, I’m not saying anything that isn’t already public knowledge.“”
With calm control I take out my cell phone and my jaw drops when I see the heinous allegations circulating around the internet about me. I was even accused of having an affair while dating Amara. Worse still, Cassandra corroborated the lies!
My hands shook with anger as I sent this to my private investigator who was the best in the world to investigate who posted this anonymously.
My lawyer and public relations team already sent me mail that they were on it and every trace of the lies would be cleared within an hour.
Let’s see how Cassandra likes a six billion dollars defamation lawsuit. She was just salty. I never called her back or returned her messages after catching her in bed with one of my old investors.
“Is this true?” The prime minister asked me.”
“It’s a lie, you know me better than this. Someone is just trying to ruin my image and sabotage me and I’ll get to the end of this.“}
The prime minister let out a breath, “I believe you, but for the sake of public opinion of reputation. I’ll have to give my support to Dylan and not you.”
Dylan the dirty politician smiled, feeling like he had stolen something really important to me.”
But I surprised them both by laughing, “It’s fine, I was only contesting because I know I’m an honest man with a lot of money to help. I wish you best of luck but best believe you won’t be receiving any funding from my organization as per usual.“}
Dylan immediately paled but laughed to shake off the awkwardness.

“It’s fine.”
I walked out of the office upset that someone had played such a dirty trick on me, remembering how the accusations may affect me and Amara’s relationship. I panicked quickly, jogging to the car to go home and explain things to Amara before it got blown out of proportion. This scandal had Jake’s hand written all over it and I was going to make sure he was brought to justice this time. His shenanigans needed to stop permanently.”
