Zora was eager to make the party official and wanted to announce it that very day, but Cesar kept putting it off.
For the past few days, he had been staying at the hospital with Abigail and hadn’t even returned to the villa to see just how bad things with Naya had gotten.
Deep down, he knew the real reason he didn’t want to announce Zora’s identity yet. It wasn’t about timing, it was because Naya had been a good wife.
Still, to pressure her into coming back, he let the news slip out as a rumor.!!
But no matter how far the gossip spread, Naya remained silent, as if she had vanished completely.
Then, the day before the party, Cesar got an unexpected call from Jules.
“For some reason, your wife suddenly left with her suitcase. But the car she was in got into an accident… it slid off a hillside and into a river. Right now, her condition is unknown, whether she’s alive or Jules trailed off, clearly anticipating Cesar’s reaction.
“Go investigate. I don’t care how, just find her. Alive or dead!” Cesar snapped, his voice trembling with urgency.
It hit him like a bolt of lightning. For a long moment, he stood frozen, struggling to process what he had just heard.
After ending the call, he stared at his phone in a daze, checking it over and over again, unable to tell if this was really happening or just a bad dream.
It wasn’t until dawn, when the doctors came in to check on Abigail, that reality finally sank in.[
He finally realized Naya was truly gone. An overwhelming sense of anxiety and loss of control swept through him.
His mind was consumed by the image of Naya’s accident, the despair, the helplessness, He could no longer sit still. Without a second thought, he jumped into his car and sped toward the villa.
When he arrived, the scene that greeted him left him frozen.
The wedding photos once proudly displayed on the wall had been taken down, leaving nothing but a bare, empty space.
The bedroom was worse.
The closet that had once brimmed with her clothes was now nearly empty, only his garments hung there, lonely and untouched.
But what shocked him most was the family portrait Naya had once treasured. It had been smashed and thrown in the trash. Cesar frowned, reaching down to retrieve it.
Always a germaphobe, he didn’t even flinch at the grime. He wiped the photo clean with his sleeve and stared at Naya’s smiling face, his chest tightening painfully.
In the second–floor study, he found a letter with his name on it. Inside the envelope was nothing but a divorce agreement and a wedding ring.
He read it carefully and realized that Naya had left with nothing.
Cesar stood there in disbelief. He had once thought she stayed with him because of the money.
That was why he had felt so sure in his entanglement with Zora, convinced she was the only one who truly loved him.”
Now, as he stared at the divorce papers, the truth hit him. He had completely misunderstood Naya.
The thought filled Cesar with a surge of indescribable sadness and shock.
He pulled out his phone and, with trembling fingers, typed what he meant to be his final message to Naya. He wanted to tell her that he had misunderstood her all these years..
But the moment he hit send, the screen showed a notification, it hadn’t been delivered.
He stared at it, frowning. ‘Did she block me? Or was her phone turned off?‘
His gaze lingered on the undelivered message. Then, suddenly, a faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips.!!
Without hesitation, he dialed Jules.”
“Jules, start digging,” he ordered. “Find out who Naya was in contact with before she vanished. And if you have to, spread the word that her daughter is alive and well, and being taken care of by me. I don’t believe she’s dead!”
