“No,” Kelley smiled, calm and unbothered. “I came to give you the truth.“}

“It’s your abortion report,” Kelley said evenly. “The test shows an abnormal concentration of mifepristone in your blood–way above the safe threshold.”
Ginger’s lips trembled. “That’s… that’s not possible. That was Vivian’s doing-”
Kelley cut her off. “No. That drug came from–Cliff. He had access to it. He prescribed it behind your back. You were just too blind to see it.”
“No–he loved me! That was his child!” Ginger’s voice cracked, desperation seeping into every word. She grabbed her phone, shaking, dialing again.
Kelley leaned forward and snatched it from her hand. “Really? Then why are you here–abandoned in this hellhole? Do you think lan moved you here without Cliff’s approval?“”
Her voice echoed off the cracked walls. Ginger finally noticed the full decay of her surroundings: the rotting floorboards, the mildew–stained ceiling, the biting cold in the air.”

Kelley crouched beside her and whispered, “Don’t worry, It’s not poison, and it won’t hurt the baby. Just enough to put you to sleep… for a little while.”
Ginger’s eyes fluttered, and she collapsed.
Kelley stood up, tossed Ginger’s phone into a bucket of water, and turned to the others. “You know what to do.”
She stepped outside and called me.
“It’s done,” she said simply.
“What did you do?” I asked.
“Just let her feel a fraction of the pain she caused others.“N
