Hugging is cherishing, it’s protection.
I reached out to pick up the old notebook that had flown to the side, “Hugging is a way to express liking, I like it too.”
“More than that, I want to know what happened between you and Ethan?”
Hearing this, Lily climbed onto the bed huffily, tucking herself into the blanket, “I don’t want to talk about that big idiot!”
As she said the last word, Lily paused abruptly, and I reasonably suspected she wanted to call my brother something worse.
I sat down nearby, opened my notebook, and asked while writing, “Are you angry?”

“Emma?” I looked up in confusion, not knowing what had happened between them again.
“Sister…” Lily crawled to my side, looking pitiful, “Ethan is bullying me…”
As if possessed, I gently stroked her head a few times.

It was already 3 AM when I arrived at Lucas’s apartment.
“Who’s there?”
As I snuck into the bedroom and opened the wardrobe to look for pajamas, the light suddenly came on, and a large hand instantly grabbed my neck, about to pin me against the closet.
