The result of the interview was that I would temporarily serve as Lucas’s assistant.
After all, there were many people in this position, and one more wouldn’t make a difference. If I wanted to leave one day, one less wouldn’t matter either.
I had no intention of having an obvious office romance, so I carefully maintained my distance from Lucas.
When it was time to leave work, I deliberately lagged behind.
Sure enough, as soon as everyone left, Lucas came out of his office. He was waiting for me.
“Going home?”
“Hm?” I looked up in confusion, “Are you going home today?”
Lucas nodded, smiling, “Since you came to find me, of course I should hurry home!”
