Audrey frowned and repeated, “Medical expenses.”
“Look at me. I got beaten up like this and didn’t get a single cent. Why should she get any?” Lucia raised her voice. “Besides, I don’t have any money
Audrey said, “Daisy, call the police.”

Lucia exploded. “I’m your mother. I don’t have a penny to my name. If anyone’s paying, it’s you.”
Audrey ordered firmly, “Call the police.”
Lucia ended up going back to the police station again.
She completely lost it at the police station, screaming and making a huge scene. She was determined that if she couldn’t have peace, no one else would
either.
She was ready to raise hell and make damn sure everyone knew her own daughter had called the cops on her.
Sylvie presented the hospital’s medical report.
Audrey coached her to claim that she suffered from tinnitus, dizziness, and blurred vision.
These symptoms were undetectable through tests, but doctors would still issue a medical certificate if the patient persistently complained of discomfort.
Sylvie claimed that if Lucia didn’t compensate her for my medical expenses and emotional distress, she’d file a lawsuit.
Lucia shouted, “That’s ridiculous. I only slapped her once. How could that possibly cause a concussion?”
“So you do admit you hit her,” the officer stated.
Lucia muttered, “Just one little hit.”
“That still counts as assault.” The officer noted it in the record.
Lucia protested hysterically, “This medical report is fake. My daughter knows the doctor–they must have forged it together. Can you believe it? My daughter colludes with outsiders to frame me.”
The officer didn’t even look up. “Your daughter’s had it rough too. She can’t even get proper rest during her postpartum recovery.”
Only then did Lucia realize that this was the same officer who handled her dispute with the other two families.
Lucia suddenly changed her testimony, insisting, “I didn’t hit her. The injuries o

Lucia thought to herself, ‘That was in Audrey’s bedroom. There’s absolutely no surveillance there.
‘Audrey may be a witness, but I can always claim we have a strained relationship and that everything she says is a lie.

Before Lucia could say another word, Audrey promptly produced the surveillance footage.
A portable mini surveillance camera was installed in her bedroom, allowing Yann to
check on her
at
any time, from anywhere.
Lucia, now facing charges for both assault and perjury, was reported to Logan once again.
Logan didn’t show up himself. Instead, he sent his lawyer–not to help her, but simply to inform her he was filing for divorce.
Furious and desperate, Lucia dissolved into tears and started making a huge commotio
In the end, Lucia was forced to compensate Sylvie for her medical expenses.
She did have money in her account, but she refused to just hand it over like this.
As she walked out of the police station, Lucia was so furious that she felt like storming over to Hillcrest Gardens with a knife.
Lucia fumed inwardly. ‘Not only did Audrey refuse to help me save my marriage, she made things even worse. She had me arrested and is now forcing Logan to divorce me. Divorce? Over my dead body!‘
Back at Hillcrest Gardens, Sylvie filled Audrey in on everything that had happened.
Audrey handed Sylvie a tube of scar removal cream. “Apply this at night. No need to rinse it off. It’s highly effective.”
“Thank you.” Sylvie accepted the ointment with a hint of guilt. “Did we go too far?”
Her words were meant for Lucia. She wondered if seeing Lucia’s hysterical outburst at the police station had made Audrey feel distressed.
“She hit you,” Audrey said.
That night, when Yann got home, Audrey told him about the incident. Yann immediately called Logan to verify if he was really getting divorced.
For the next few days, Audrey followed the doctor’s instructions and moved around her room each day.
She would also check on the three babies. They were all wrinkly when they were born, but now that their features had filled out, they actually looked much more pleasant.
Audrey said, “Honestly, I can only admit it now–when I first saw them, I thought they looked kinda… not cute at all.”
Amelia cradled the baby girl and chuckled. “All newborns look like that–blame the womb. Just wait, they change every single day.
“Newborns always look reddish at first, but they’ll grow up fair–skinned. These three are already much cuter than Yanny was when he was born. Back then, I honestly thought he looked like a little monkey.”
Audrey clutched her stomach and burst out laughing.
After a few more days, her C–section incision had almost completely healed.
Audrey didn’t need to breastfeed. She received a lactation–suppressing injection right after giving birth, sparing her the discomfort of weaning.
These past few days, she’d been watching her diet and doing gentle exercises.

In the blink of an eye, the babies were one month old.
Yann hosted a party, inviting not only his close friends but also the executives from StrideVestment and Stride Commerce, Celeste showed up as well.
“You knew all along you were having triplets, didn’t you,” she said, reluctantly pulling out three chunky gold lock pendants.
Audrey nodded with a smile.
Celeste’s eyes were full of envy as she looked at the triplets. She leaned in and whispered to Audrey, “Just you wait.“”
Audrey jolted in surprise and immediately glanced at Celeste’s belly. She thought
“Could she be pregnant already?”
Celeste pressed a finger to her lips with a knowing look, signaling for silence.
Celeste whispered, “It’s still early. We’re keeping it quiet for now.”
Audrey frowned slightly, thinking, ‘Celeste had her baby naturally and went through so much during labor. Her body hasn’t even fully recovered, and she’s already pregnant again? Isn’t that a bit too soon?‘
Celeste could only sigh. Her husband was his family’s only son, and while her in–laws ador grandson.
While they were talking inside, a sudden commotion erupted outside.
“No way. I held her first, so she’s mine,” Keith barked.
“I wasn’t even there. Let’s do this over,” Hardy said.
I their granddaughter, what they truly longed for was a
Keith replied, “Hey, it’s not like I stopped you. You chose to play in that tournament. I fought tooth and nail for this spot, so why should we redo the
selection?”
Keith stood guard at the door, barring Hardy’s way
to the second floor.
Hardy, normally a man of few words, stiffened his neck in anger. Finally losing patience, he grabbed Keith by the collar and shoved him away.
Keith staggered backward, nearly knocking over the large vase by the staircase, then lunged forward to grab Hardy around the waist.
“Let go,” Hardy shouted.
“No way,” Keith snapped, tightening his grip.
Hardy snapped, “You’re so gross.”
“I don’t care if you think I’m gross, I’m not letting go,” Keith insisted..
As Quentin walked past them, he grinned at Audrey and said, “I’ve already got a son, so let me be your girl’s godfather. That way, I’ll have the perfect pair.”
“How shameless! Sneaking in while we’re distracted/ Keith roared, releasing Hardy and bolting upstairs..
Hardy quickly joined in, all three men were clamoring to be the baby girl’s godfather.
Slightly tipsy, his gaze hazy from the alcohol, Yann pulled Audrey close and teased, “Want a daughter? Go have one on your own.”
Yann thought, ‘Celeste’s in–laws are desperate for a boy, while the three of them are fighting over who gets to be the baby girl’s godfather
The three men’s heated argument got so loud that it ended up waking the babies in the room.
The moment Sylvie opened the door, ali three men came charging in at once, startling her so badly that she literally leaped backward out of the way

Keith had one arm hooked around Quentin’s neck and the other wrapped around Hardy’s waist, pulling them close. He thought, “I was the first to hold the baby girl when she was born. No one’s taking her from me.”
The three grown men were jammed together in the doorway, each refusing to budge.
The nanny came over, holding the swaddled baby, curious about the commotion.
Suddenly, a tiny hand poked out from the swaddle.
“Baby girl! That’s my baby girl,” Keith yelled.
Hardy asked, “How can you tell?”
“Look, she’s wearing the gold bracelet I gave her,” Keith declared proudly.
Keith shoved his way in forcefully, jamming Hardy’s bones against the doorframe until he howled in pain.
Audrey couldn’t help herself. She nudged Yann with her elbow and said, “How about we let them pick randomly? Whoever picks the girl becomes her godfather.”
Yann replied, “Whatever you say, darling.”
So the nannies rewrapped all three babies in identical swaddling clothes, tucking every tiny hand and foot snugly inside.
The three nannies stood in a row inside the room, each wearing a numbered tag.
The three would–be godfathers jostled at the doorway–one on tiptoes, others craning their necks, each striking exaggerated poses as they vied to pick the girl.
