Lucia felt like she’d been set up by Audrey. No wonder she’d been so quick to let her tag along–it turned out she was trying to matchmake Logan and Amelia. Just thinking about it made Lucia furious.
“Audrey, what on earth were you thinking?” Lucia’s eyes reddened with anger, her voice trembling. “I’m your own mother. Even if you hate me, you can’t treat me like this, can you?”
Audrey looked at Lucia in confusion. “What are you talking about?”
Lucia shook the plane ticket in her hand. “If I go on a two–week vacation abroad with you, by the time I get back, everything will be too late!”
Audrey still didn’t understand what she was talking about. Lucia had insisted on coming along, and now she was complaining about the trip being too long. “If you’re bored, you can go back early,” Audrey said.
“You don’t get it. Some things can be settled in one night,” Lucia said with regret.
Audrey frowned slightly, still not understanding a word Lucia was saying.
Lucia pulled Audrey’s hand, stepped aside, and lowered her voice. “How much did Amelia pay you to set them up?”
Audrey suddenly realized what was going on. She let out a cold laugh and pulled her hand away from Lucia’s grasp.
“I advise you not to project your own thoughts onto others. If you want to keep being a carefree socialite, get rid of those unrealistic ideas in your head. Otherwise, when you have nothing left, don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Audrey said.
Lucia still couldn’t believe her words. “Are you telling the truth?”
“What’s in it for me to lie to you?” Audrey asked.
The thought of Amelia possibly getting back together with Logan because he kept pestering her made Lucia decide she had

Lucia gripped her ticket and was still hesitating whether to set off with Audrey. She was sure Logan cared about Amelia, but not sure how Amelia felt.

“I’m not a third wheel. I’m the glue that holds their love together. Scientists say pregnant women should look at good–looking people so their babies will be pretty,” Lena said.
She went on, “Audrey stares at Yann’s cold face all day. I wonder if the babies will turn into a snowman… Ow!”
Before Lena could finish, someone flicked her on the head. She covered her forehead and looked at Owen with a frown. “Why?”
“Yann is cold, but he only smiles at Audrey, so your worry is unnecessary,” Owen said.

Lucia thought about how she’d never had a proper vacation, always putting Logan’s career first and being his personal nanny. With a determined sigh. she boarded the plane. Only then did she realize it was a private jet arranged by Yann.
On the plane, there were not only professional medical staff and strong bodyguards but also Yann’s assistant and secretary, Audrey’s lawyer Emilia, and the screenwriter Brocké.
They all had tedious work to do and couldn’t completely let go of their jobs to relax on vacation.

“Arrange my discharge,” Valerie said coldly to the nurse. “I know you can do it.”
Jeana ran out in fear. She called Hardy, told him Valerie wanted to be discharged and might be going to find Clayton, and asked wha… do.
Hardy transferred some money to Jeana to handle the discharge procedures and gave Valerie 300 dollars for the fare.
