Chapter 309
Audrey and Yann got back to Hillcrest Gardens. The wedding had lasted all day, and Audrey was truly feeling tired. She let her hair down, changed into loungewear, took a hot bath, and then lay down on the bed.
She thought of what Emilia had said about using a red quilt. Only then did she realize most of the quilts in the bedroom were warm cream colored, with only the bed sheet being red.
Audrey rolled directly into the bed sheet. When Yann came in and saw her doing this, he was a bit confused.
“Oh, I’m just too happy,” Audrey said with a smile as she wriggled out, smoothed the bed sheet, and lay back on it.
Yann smiled indulgently and then went to take a shower.
Audrey picked up her bag again to look at the gifts she had received that day.
Logan and Amelia had decided to give Audrey 560 thousand dollars.
Richard gave a check for 60 thousand dollars. He said since Audrey regarded Amelia as a mother, then he was like a father to Audrey. So Audrey had one
more powerful relative.
The gifts from the others were all at the registration desk, and she planned to check them tomorrow. She happily held the check and smelled it again and again, feeling extremely happy.
When Yann came out of the bathroom, he opened the safe, took out a brown envelope, and gave it to her.
“What’s this?” Audrey reached out to take it.
“It’s a gift for you,” Yann said as he sat down beside her and wiped his hair.
Audrey opened it and saw the property certificate of Hillcrest Gardens, an antique collection list, and a check worth three million dollars. She asked, “Are all these for me?”
Yann nodded and then said, “Although the wedding was rushed and many property procedures are still being handled, everything I have is yours.” His property, including himself, belonged to Audrey.
Audrey was extremely happy. She put the house deed and several checks on her stomach and then said, “Babies, what do you like?”
Suddenly, she bent over and lay on the bed.
Seeing this, Yann threw aside the towel, strode to the bedside, and asked with great concern, “What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?”
“I’m fine,” Audrey said as she lay on the bed and looked at him. “I just had a cramp in my stomach.”
Yann didn’t dare to be so optimistic and insisted on taking her for a check.
Audrey refused with a smile. “I’m really okay. Maybe the babies like your gifts, so they gave me a response.”
Yann unhappily held her in his arms. “Those are all for you. When they are born, if they are obedient, I will prepare another gift for them. If they are not obedient, I will spank their butts.”
Audrey giggled in his arms. She was sure that when the children were born, he would not be willing to hit them.
After they lay down, Audrey made an excuse to go to the bathroom, specifically put on Yann’s slippers walked around, and then fell asleep peacefully.
Because of Clayton, the labor service company was investigated, so he was scolded by his boss.

Chapter 309
It was impossible to get the deposit back. If it weren’t for the fact that his front tooth was missing and his mental state was not good, the company would definitely have asked him to pay compensation.
Clayton paid for fixing his front teeth. When he got home, it was already dark. He suddenly remembered that he had not picked up Luna from the kindergarten.
He called the teacher and was told that Luna had contacted a man named Mr. Cruz to pick her up.
Clayton knew that man was Hardy. The last time he and Valerie had lost Luna because of a quarrel at the hospital gate, it was Hardy who had sent the little girl back..
Hardy got along well with Luna and gave her a schoolbag and a beautiful dress. He did not give these things to Clayton and Valerie but directly sent them to the kindergarten for the teacher to give to Luna.
Valerie tried to contact Hardy, wanting to ask for benefits in Luna’s name, but Hardy didn’t answer her calls at all.
Clayton contacted Hardy and then took a taxi to the esports base to pick up Luna.
He was not allowed to enter. Soon, someone brought Luna out.
“Sorry, I went to fix my teeth and forgot to pick you up,” Clayton said as he walked quickly over.
Luna held his finger and said, “Do you have a toothache too?”
Clayton was embarrassed to tell Luna that his front tooth had been knocked out, so he could only barely smile and nod.
“Then you should eat soft food,” Luna said.
Clayton asked in surprise and delight, “How do you know that you should eat soft food when you have a toothache?”
Luna opened her mouth, bared her teeth, and pointed to show him. “My front tooth is loose. Uncle Hardy said I’m going to lose my baby teeth, so he gave me soft mashed potatoes. You can eat mashed potatoes too.”
Clayton’s smile froze on his face. Luna was Valerie’s biological daughter and his legal daughter, but they had not paid attention to her growth.
- When Luna lost her first tooth, it was an outsider who gave her care and protection. They had been so incompetent as parents.
When they got home, when Clayton was going to give Luna a bath, Valerie came back. She reeked of alcohol, rushed into the bathroom, and started vomiting.
“Do you really have to be like this?” Clayton said in displeasure and wrapped Luna with a blanket before cuddling her.
After vomiting, Valerie cleaned her face and then said drunkenly, “Do you think I want to be like this? It’s all because you can’t make money to support the family.”
She poked Clayton’s chest hard with her finger as if she wanted to poke a hole in him.
“If I had known you were such a loser, I would not have come back. In Haldenwick, I could have easily found a man to marry me,” she said.
She continued, “I thought you could make me live an easy life by relying on your father and brother, but I didn’t expect you to rely on Audrey.”
“Shut up!” Clayton shouted angrily, and Luna in his arms trembled. He quickly patted Luna’s back to comfort her.
Valerie leaned weakly against the door and said with a sneer, “Am I wrong? Without Audrey, not only you but also the Patel family would be finished.”
Clayton hated it most when others said he relied on his family’s power, and he hated it even more when they said he could only succeed by relying on Audrey.
“You are simply unreasonable. When I married Audrey, my father and brother had already taken power. Audrey was nothing at that time,” he said.

Chapter 309
“Oh, so you still don’t know,” Valerie said, and then she felt like vomiting again. After rinsing her mouth, she looked up and saw Clayton’s pate and grim face in the mirror.
“Today in the bar, I met a guest,” she said.
Valerie sold expensive wine in the bar and could earn money by chatting and laughing with the guests. In her opinion, this was much better than actually
working.
The guest was from Ironhaven and had come to attend Yann’s wedding that day. He said that John had been able to get a high position because of Yann’s help.
At that time, he had thought the Patel family had a connection with Yann and wanted to curry favor with them, but then John was suddenly dismissed from his post and went to prison.
After that, he made some inquiries and found out that the wife of the second son of the Patel family was Yann’s stepsister.
If the Patel family had treated Audrey well, they would have had a lot of benefits in the future, but they had abused Audrey and cut off the whole family’s bright future with their own hands.
After hearing Valerie’s words, Clayton was stunned. John’s promotion, Wyatt’s good job, and the prosperity of his own law firm had all been because of Audrey.
He regretted divorcing Audrey again. He had ruined his entire family with his own hands.
Clayton suddenly thought of the business card that the woman had given him that day.
