The Aldrin family had many distant relatives working at the company–some had earned their positions through genuine skill, others had gotten jobs through connections in unimportant departments. They would never risk their own careers by resigning together just to pressure Yann on her behalf

Olivia’s eyes turned red with anger. She pressed her lips together in frustration and turned to leave. Her footsteps were heavy but slow She was giving Yarn one last chance to call her back.
Even if Yann had told Olivia to go home and reflect for a few days, there might have been some room for reconciliation, but she walked all the way to the elevator without anyone calling her back.
