“Iris Lancaster–the patient from your clinic. Where did she go?
“She was just here… Where could she have gone?” The nurse uttered in confusion, then she smiled. “Please don’t worry, maybe she Just went to the restroom.”
Tm telling you, she’s my daughter! If anything happens to her, I’ll make you all pay for it!”
It was Stella’s voice X
Iris clenched the letter hidden in her pocket, forcing herself to stay calm.
“Mom, why are you here?”
Stella spun around and glared at her, her expression instantly darkening.
“Where the hell were you? You can’t even stay put in a hospital bed? You really are just a wretched creature!”
Suppressing the rage burning in her chest, Iris forced a smile. “I just went to the restroom.”
Just then, Esther suddenly appeared out of nowhere. She clung to Iris‘ arm in a sickly sweet manner, her voice filled with concern.
“Iris, you’re finally better! You have no idea how worried I’ve been. I couldn’t sleep for days because I blamed myself so much. If I hadn’t wrongly accused you, you wouldn’t have collapsed. It’s all my fault. Please don’t hate me–I’m truly sorry”
Ins wanted nothing more than to slap her across the face
Now that her scheme had failed, she was trying to twist the truth and play the victim, all in a bid for forgiveness.
Since she wanted to be forgiven, Ins decided to grant her wish.!
Curling her lips into a smirk, she said mockingly, “An apology? Sure. You’ve always been such a well–mannered girl–you know how to properly apologize, right? Here’s what you’ll do: bow to me. A deep, respectful bow. If you do that, I’ll forgive you.“:
The moment the words left her mouth, Esther froze in place.”
She looked like she had been struck by lightning.
Of all people, Iris was the one she looked down on the most. Now, was she being asked to bow to her? She would rather die!? Stella immediately jumped to defend her pointing a furious finger at Iris.!
“Don’t you dare go too far, Ins!“}
But Iris didn’t back down. She straightened her back and met Stella’s gaze with an icy glare.
“Did she not just say she wanted to apologize? As the one who was wronged, do I not have the right to decide how I want to be apologized to? If she refuses, that’s fine–I simply won’t forgive her.”
Esther quickly interrupted before Stella could explode.!
“Mom, don’t be mad. It’s my fault. I deserve this. I shouldn’t even be alive. If only I had died with my father back then, I wouldn’t be here causing trouble for you…
With that, she lunged toward the wall, pretending she was going to slam into it!!
Instantly, Stella panicked. This was her weakness–she couldn’t stand hearing Esther talk like that. She rushed forward, grabbing her arm and coaxing her
“What nonsense are you saying? You’re our family’s lucky star. And that wench–what is she compared to you?”
Turning back to Ins, she spat furiously. “Who do you think you are? If we weren’t in the clinic right now, I’d skin you alive!“?
Of course, Esther never intended to actually hit the wall. Instead, she continued to sob pitifully.
“It’s all my fault… As long as Iris stays healthy, I’ll do anything…”
The moment she said “stay healthy,” Stella seemed to snap to attention. Her expression shifted, and she suddenly narrowed her eyes

“You little liar. I bet you’re just faking this whole illness! You keep saying you have heart and lung problems, but I don’t buy it. Enough with this nonsense–stop wasting money and come home with me!“&
Before Iris could react, Stella grabbed her by the collar and dragged her toward the front desk, shouting for the clinic to discharge her immediately
The staff at the clinic didn’t dare argue with a troublemaker like her and quickly processed the discharge papers..
Even as she signed the forms, Stella continued her tirade.X
“Doctor, tell me the truth–did she really has heart and lung problems, or is she just lying to me?”
