Leah was shocked by this stern rebuke. She collapsed to the ground, lips trembling, unable to say a word.[]
Mr. Blake Sr. took a deep breath, turned to look at Pierce, his eyes full of disappointment: “Pierce, do you know who she is?“[]
“I didn’t tell you the truth initially because I didn’t want to burden you.“[]
“I planned to reveal it after the engagement.“]
“But you actually… sigh…“]
Pierce’s fingertips trembled slightly. He opened his mouth but couldn’t make a sound.[]
Thalia stood up, straightening her coffee–stained dress, speaking lightly: “Mr. Blake Sr., don’t make things difficult for him.”
“Since Blake Group doesn’t welcome me, I’ll leave.“]
With that, Thalia stepped toward the door.
“Wait!” Pierce’s father hurriedly blocked Thalia, his tone almost pleading, “Thalia, this is the Blake family’s fault. Please give us a chance to make amends!“]
Thalia stopped and glanced back at Pierce.
His face was pale, his eyes full of shock and confusion.]
“A chance?” Thalia chuckled, “Uncle, do you think Blake Group still has the qualifications to discuss chances with me?“]
As soon as Thalia finished speaking, the conference room’s projection screen suddenly lit up, displaying real–time financial news:
[Breaking! Blake Group stock plummets 30%, market value evaporates nearly ten billion!] []
The executives gasped, some even collapsing in their chairs from shock.
Pierce suddenly looked up at the screen, pupils contracting.
Thalia slowly took out another phone and dialed: “You can stop now.

The conference room fell into profound silence, everyone’s gaze focused on Thalia.[]
As if looking at a monster.
Pierce’s father took a deep breath, suddenly turned around, and slapped Leah across the face!
“You useless thing! Kneel down!“[]
“Apologize to Miss Thalia!“]
Leah was spun around twice by the slap, her teeth loosened, blood flowing from the corner of her mouth.[]

Chapter 7
Seeing Leah’s pitiful state, Pierce rushed forward, hands trembling as he helped her up.[]
“Dad, let’s talk calmly. Why did you hit her?“]
Thalia watched this scene with cold amusement.[]
Pierce’s originally handsome face was now flushed red with anger.[]
His protective stance toward Leah reminded Thalia of the countless times during this period he had refused her invitations for this
woman.
“Mr. Blake, forget it.“]
Thalia slowly adjusted her sleeves.
“Since Pierce is determined to protect her, I don’t need your apologies.“[]
Bierce’s father’s expression darkened. Without a word, he slapped Leah again.[]
This time, Leah fell directly to her knees, the sound of her knees hitting the floor making everyone present shrink back.]
“Pierce! Get out of the way!” Pierce’s father roared, “Do you realize who you’re protecting? Do you know what kind of person you’ve offended?“]
Pierce stubbornly stood his ground, arms spread wide, firmly protecting Leah.
“No matter who she is, no one has the right to bully Leah like this!“]
Pierce turned to glare at Thalia, anger burning in his eyes.
“Thalia, do you think just because you have some background, you can humiliate people like this? Shameless! Despicable!“]]
The gazes in the conference room turned to Thalia again.[]
On the projection screen, Blake Group’s stock price curve still fluctuated slightly, reminding everyone of what had just happened.]
Thalia walked up to Pierce.]
The faint scent of his men’s cologne entered her nostrils–the one Leah had given him. She remembered.]]
Three months ago, on his birthday, Thalia had given Pierce a watch worth ten million.[]
He thanked her politely but never wore it again.]]
But the cheap cologne Leah gave him, he used every day.
